Florida isnt that far...always a fun roadtrip and tons of sights along the way, it's seriously worth the drive/flight. I've gone to the past 2 Langerado's and volunteered for both. The more the merrier!
jesus christ they've beefed it up since the last two years! i went both years (though very late last year due to some car trouble) it's fun really freaking HOT though!!
yeah we have been blessed w/ BEAUTIFUL weather both years, though it has been a little hot. The first year there was almost no shade which was hard but last year there were shady trees right by the stages so it was fantastic. Shade and water will be even more organized this year. I wish it were march now!
Hey, I was thinking about making the trek all the way down from Ohio for this thing. It would be a fund roadtrip - I'd get to see the beach - and I love the Cheese (Saw them at Terra Alta last year). However, I checked the Web site link and it sounds as if there's no camping in the park. If that's the case, does anyone know if there are any campsites, etc. in really close proximity to the concert? I'd hate to have a good time all day, and then have to worry about driving a half an hour or an hour away. That would be a slight bummer.
On the website I think they posted a few camping areas. http://www.langerado.com/general_info.htm#Camping
i tried finding camping down in that area the first year i went (the first fest) and it was IMPOSSIBLE, do you have any specific suggestions? we checked everything langerado had listed, and the people at the places said that they'd been book for 6 months or so, one place was like "oh we are booked a couple of years in advance" and one place on the list didn't even have camping.. and there were only like four places listed
These two bands have just been confirmed as late additions for Langerado Music festival: the New Deal Umphrey's McGee
so there is no camping at this event itself???? I mean the line up looks killer but i like to walk to the shows. from my tent
I'm also big on being able to walk/stumble to and from a show from my tent. With that said, I still think I'm going to go — it could be a fun road trip. I do have two questions: Does this thing coincide with spring break in Florida? If so, does that mean there are going to be a billion frat-boy types running around all weekend in the area? Just curious because that could contribute to all the hotels, camping spots, etc. selling out.
no, although it is around the same time as spring break, this is not the frat scene i'll tell you that. i've been to each one so far and it's nothing but heads out there at the fest... those types will all be on south beach and in lauderdale... not the fest...
Hey now, I'm camped wherever my truck is parked. Any Wal-Marts nearby? Even any old strip mall will do. What's the local 'hood like...safe, rough? What about just driving into the 'glades. Any place to park there? Thanks.
well sunrise, FL, from what i understand, is one of the many suburbs of the ft. lauderdale area, so i'm sure it will be a safe place. the glades are a good hour or two away, so that's pretty rough. i've heard word that people want to camp on the beach, which would be awesome too...
