I've been waiting to see something like this. With today's technology, this is something they could integrate into any TV or display. This one stupid optical circuit, does the job of a server for graphics while, using AI, you don't need a video game studio. Combined with all the newest video game engines, it means the sky is the limit for graphics.

Using one chip that has this circuit, which possibly use as little as .01 watts, an ordinary AI running on your laptop can just make up anything they think you might find interesting, on the fly. Its a gamer's wet dream, is ridiculously efficient and, probably, can be made small enough to fit inside the newest VR glasses.

Holographic rendering won't be far behind. However, it makes it that much easier for AI to copy people's artwork, and the AI are already beating everyone to the punch, creating their own artwork and fans.
