It wasn't too hard to figure out who the atheist was.

I chuckled when the God Gene was discussed.

I've known ABC to be pretty biased.

In this program, did they at least have proponents/opponents for both sides, or was it sort of a comedic thing?

Seemed rather balanced. Had a Catholic (or Anglican? Or someone else? I missed his denom.), an evangelical, a Jewish comedian, a Rabbi, a Muslim scholar, a failed suicide bomber, an atheist, the Dalai Lama and Richard Gere representing Buddhism... and that's all I remember. They also had people talking about near death experiences and such. I wouldn't call it an exhaustive study or even anything nearing conclusive, but it was interesting anyways.

Now, that I would have watched ABC for.

A failed suicide bomber? Maybe there is some hope left in the news media ...
