They're practically nowhere to be found on TV. Much like Little Rascals. What did they do? Burn all the tapes?
hope not ..............on the blue ridge mountains of virginia ...........on the trail of the lonesome pine . ........hopefully will be able to get on dvd "s
I think they purposely take these off the TV so that they can sell the DVDs. Some companies own all the rights to a material and can take it off the airways completely if they want to. Boomerang now has exclusive rights to the Flintstones from what I've heard, so you're forced to buy the Boomerang network if you want to see them. Or, (heh heh), buy the DVD. .
For me,nobody comes anywhere close to the chrisma & appeal of Laurel & Hardy. The Three Stooges & The Marx Brothers included. I have a DVD of Laurel & Hardy as the subjects of television's 'This is Your Life' from 1953.I like their early talkies. For me,their two faces(with Greta Garbo)personify the best of the 1930s;if not the whole of the 20th century!.
within the last year tcm had an all day showing of laurel and hardy films.they used to be on sunday mornings localy.they used to play "the music box"every new years eve.they were funny, are funny and will always be funny.
I love Laurel and Hardy!!!!! In my opinion better than Abbot and Costello I love the one where they are trying to move the piano and it falls out the window! (If I remember right that one was silent)
