Law enforcment being a douche?

Since Ive had my dreads, ive had four run ins with the police. It may be coincidence, but before I had dreads, i never had an issue. I have been random breath tested, drug tested, and have been searched twice by patrolling officers at the beach. Is it my fucked up luck, or has anyone else experienced this sort of shit since they got knotty?

yeah mate i dont have dreads tho i had a killer beard not long ago, the local cops always would follow me, pull me over, been searched a few times, heaps of breathos, all dureing the day, one night they followed me parked beside me and asked if i was smokeing a joint, realy pissed me off at the time, another thime they asked my what was with the beard, has not been any troubble since i shaved it off tho, im growing my hair now for dreads its starting to knot up tho not a lot, how long was urs before it started to dread up, [eace bro

 

i've been harrassed yea. one time i got pulled out and searched from a routine traffic stop. i think my registration was out. first question he asked was if i had been smoking marijuana. i told him no, he pulled us out and started searching the car without my permission. found some grass clippings from our feet in the floorboard and a cigarette cellophane and he told us he had found marijuana and was going to take us in. tried to scare us into confessing, and eventually just let me go.

 

Damn, those stories are insane. I haven't been bothered like that (yet) but if I do I'm exersizing my 4th amendment!

I've never been harassed by the cops in my life. In the States, where my black side of the family lives, they get pulled over all the time because of "speeding" while going at the proper speed. It's just because they're black and are driving cars better than the cops can afford, so they get angry at them.

Canadian cops don't tend to stereotype, so that probably helps why I've never been harassed... They stare a lot, though.

 

Uhhh, not to pick a fight with ya dude, but if you read the rest of the thread, you may see that it isn't just black people that get this BS from the cops. Oh but props for being black and having nice cars: very impressive.

Oh, and before you call me racist.... KILL WHITEY!!!

 

English police seem so soft compared to US/Canada police.

 

This thread is about law enforcement being a douche because of how someone looks. It doesn't really matter if you have dreadlocks, or are a minority, cops still see you as a bad person.

 

yeah, back when i was in highschool and had long dreads the school's truancy officer would always pull me outta class on anonymous tips that i had drugs. of course i never(always) did.

recently the bailiff at the court house asked me not to wear a bandana to hold me hair back because it wasn't proper to wear hats. well the girl two rows over was wearing a head band. i looked wicked nice too, i was in an olive green suit with a perfectly matched green bandana rolled up into a headband holding my hair back, with my dreads in a pony tail.

the only time I had trouble with the cops was when I killed that hooker a few years ago... nothing too serious like marijuana or speeding tickets.

lol, I got detained by the RCMP in Moncton New Brunswick for walking around the airport parkinglot at like 4am... I was 16, with another 6 hours to wait for my connecting flight to sydney so I went for a stroll to stay awake..

They said I looked suspicious..

 

Yeah, i've never really had a problem with coppas, probably because I try to be respectful and not show my utter distaste for what they do. One time I was with a fellow dreadlocked brethren, outside a gas station, when a cop approached us. He said something along the lines of "hey, haven't I seen you guys around before?". We said we didn't know and he said "why, too baked to remember?". My buddy replied with "no, I don't smoke" (and he doesn't). Naturally, the cop just kinda just rolled his eyes and was like "it's ok, you can admit that you smoke pot". I didn't say anything and just kind of ignored it, as there was no way in hell i'd be like "yeah, yeah, im actually ripped right now, officer, and am carrying weed presently:search me!"

Just don't give em a reason to hassle you. Lots of time i've been asked if I was treeplanting and just said I was, to avoid them getting to know me too well.

 

1) Black people can have dreads without looking like crims. Everyone just thinks your Jamaican or some shit.

2)Black people dont drive cars, they run everywhere. You know that

 

The time i was breath tested was when i was waiting in line to get into a club in town. I noticed the short fat guy with a green mohawk looking at me from far back, but i just ignored it, when i got close enough to the entrance of the club, he pulls me over and says "Excuse me mate, have you had anything to drink tonight?". He didnt test anyone else that i saw. Maybe i looked drunk.
