    how do...
ive got a plant thats a few months old.. not sure what strain or age coz i got if from a mates mother :D
its hitting about 3 foot high and when i got her shes was in bad health..
it was in a tiny pot and the plant had wilted and perts of it had started to die off.. i repotted it in perlight and fertiliser in a nice big pot. been using micro 5-0-1 advanced nutrients to bring her back to life.. www.advancednutrientsusa.com with a 2ml per litre ratio.

the plant has picked up substantially but the tips of all the leaves have started to dry and or turn brown.. just wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks..

as shes getting 2tall in gunna be cutting off the top node so it wont get any higher but i dont wanna do this if the planth is unhealthy and i run the risk of killing her.

    any help is appreacheated.
    cheers lads.

    --Brown tipped leaves
Sounds to me like Nitrgen burn. Someone more experienced could prolly back me up on that. If it is, then just lay off the fert for a little while and just give her water. If you can take pictures, that would help alot with the diagosis.

    --Cutting the top node
She will still get bigger even if you cut off her top node. you will have to train her after you cut her top node so that she doesn't get too big for your area.

Dash is right. The transplant was needed but you used what? Perlite and fertilizer?

You need a good potting soil mix with a little added perlite.

Advanced nutes are expensive and very good but you probably used too much. The plant just needs new soil to root in and the dead leaves removed to recover. BOG

it was a soil/compost/perlite mix.. got it from the local head shop.. told me it works wonders for our type of plants.
followd the nuits on the bottle and watered every 3-5days r so..
well im trying the plain water now and seeing how it takes off..
    ill keep yis informed.

I hope that helps. Test the ph of your water and try and keep it below 7 and above 6. The nutes could have been making your feed water too acidic.

Normally vegging plants in soil don't need as much ferting as is often recommended by the people selling their ferts. Don't think more is better. Hope I'm on the right track for ya. BOG

you can get a pretty good idea of what the ph in the soil is like with a cheap ph tester like you would get at a pool place, ya test the water goin in, then test the run off water comming out. those testers are like 6$

i got one of the testers... cheapo job..
you said test the water befor it goes in.. its noramlly about 6-7ph
you said runn the water through the pot and test what comes out? wouldnt that lead to over watering the plant?

only if you watered them like that too often. it's usually a good thing to water until there is runoff, that's normal. So if ya give them alittle extra water when you water it won't harm the plant.

you can do it with or without the nuits, testing the run off this way will give you an idea of the soil ph, it won't be a perfect read, but for that ya gotta spend a whole lot more money, or do a whol lot more werk.

yea thats what i was thinking...
i gave it 2 weeks of plain water and then used the nuits, a much weaker solution of nuits actually.... plant has exploded with growth, lookin healthier now.. cut off the top node so it dont get any higher and its flying along.. how often should i use the nuits in yer opinions?

I wouldn't bother with nutes until it looks as though it needs them.

yea i kinda figured that over the last few days...

i have her under a 250watt metal halide / sodium lamp.. theres a couple of feet between the light and the plant and the plant seem to be developing loads of white spots.. not discolorment eg yellow.. actuall white.. i cant bring the light any higher, its not just the top of the plant that has them tho. think it could be some sort of infection or is it 2 many lumans burning the plant? the plants on 18/6.. dont wanna loose her, i bin tru so much.
    cheers in advance lads.

white spots can mean bad bad things. How big are these white spots? My first thought with white spots is mites, they suck the color out. but those are lots of small white spots. If the plant isgetting too tall, you can do some low stress training on it to make it fit, as long as you have the width for it. For low stress training, you take a little trelles or something that you can tie onto, and tie the plant to it, ya don't want to lean it all the way over, just start slow and slowly lean it alittle more each week or 2 and soon it will do it without having to be tied to anything. Just gotta give it some support during flowring since the buds can get heavy.
