Led Zeppelin vs Rolling Stones

Whos the most inovative and original band? Or who do you like the most? Whatever... I'm tired

 

I like the stoneroses better than either.

The Rolling Bones (I mean stones) were more original, IMO - partly because they were around before Zeppelin. I am referring to their pre-70's work, though. Plus, the Stones covered much more ground than Zeppelin.

 

i think they both suck, but ive never listened to either of them. not my kinda music

 

at the moment i would pick Zep but I do love the albums that the Stones made with Mick Taylor on guitar.. my favorite cd "Exile On Mainstreet" has a perfect combination of rock,blues and country which Zep only came close to on one song "Your Time Is Gonna Come"..

however it's safe to say that the Stones made alot of junk in the last 25 years

 

I like em both, but prefer the rolling stones. And I love the stone roses of course.

Why compare them? There's really no comparing either.

That's like comparing dark chocolate to light chocolate. There's not a lot of difference and they're both very good.

 

ditto -- both bands were blues-based, with good songwriting, good musicians, MAJOR influence on future artists

I personally like Keef's gritty tone and riffs better than Page, but in no way does that make page a lesser player.

I listen to both equally

And Jagger is sexier than Plant.

 

Ok but isn't Page much sexier than Richards? Oh yeah! Zeppelin for me, no doubt.

 

The Stones can roll on for another half a century, and still, as we say in my town, they won't reach Page's ankle. At least, that's what my ears feel.

 

This is just fucked up! They are both my favorite bands, this is like asking me to choose children.

C'mon is there any doubt that Led Zeppelin is the better band. I mean the stones are good and all, but Zeppelin is by far the better band.

 

Numbnuts, it's a matter of opinion. Frankly, I think they're both disgustingly overrated bands - Led Zeppelin especially - who milked the same cow for the entire length of their career. I can hardly listen to either of these bands anymore, but at least the Stones have some diversity to their catalogue, even if they sold out well over 25 years ago.

The matter of Zeppelin apparently "milking the same cow for their entire career" is also a matter of opinion I think..

I think because Zeppelin had their own sound, some people tend to think they just re-wrote the same song over and over, when, personally I think that's a total fallacy..

Then again... This is just my opinion and I am pretty bias lol
