So I'm in bed lying on my right side and it's comfortable but I have to keep my right hand under my head to keep it up. The problem is, I'm right handed, so I'm just using one hand to type and I'm trying to just type with my left hand. I'm actually not that bad at it. Well, now I'm wondering, what is it like to be left handed? Leftys have always fascinated me and the strange thing is pretty much everyone I've dated has been left handed...
My mother was left handed but when she went to school they made her write with her right hand. I always wondered what that did to her brain. Good thing they don't do that anymore.
Im ambidextrous , but a roman catholic nun said I was the devil because I could write either or... I ripped that bitches habit off with a fishing hook.
I'm a lefty but not by choice...... When I was born there was trauma and I ended up with Erbs Palsy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erb's_palsy I can move my right arm and stuff it's hard to explain but cant write with it.
my mom was a lefty too....when it came time to teach us kids how to eat she taught us cutting meat but as a leftied.... ....for years i would switch my knife to my left hand...cut the meat and then switch back so i was forking in my right hand to this day at a family dinner my siblings and i will occasionally still do it like that
That's pretty neat . I never heard of that before , it just shows how we learn by watching every detail even if it's against our own instincts I'm a lefty and I only cut meat with my right hand . And I only do two things right handed , cut meat and throw . Cause when I was kid playing baseball I could never find a right handed glove . So I had to learn to throw right handed against my natural instincts . And to this day I can now only throw right handed . It's interesting what you said about your mom , cause I prefer to cut meat right handed even though I'm a lefty , and I think it's because I prefer to hold my fork in my left hand and knife in my right . But the more I think about it , I only use my right hand whenever I use a knife ,even while not eating with a fork . Huh , that's strange ! Maybe because like you that's how I learned from my mom a right handed person as a child . It's amazing how close we follow subconscious detail as children .
I'm left handed and the two people whom I've ever truly liked (romantically) are lefties too! WEIRD HAND CONNECTIONS, MAN. I use my right for a lot of stuff though, so I mostly just write with my left.
That's awful ! Thank God , they don't do that anymore . It's not right ! As A lefty I was spared that . We use the right side of our brains . Right handed people use the left . So it's kind of like the brain has to rewire itself against its natural instincts . But yeah I know long ago they forced left handed kids to learn right handed . Because they believed using the left hand was evil . Even today in some muslim countries and India every person must only eat right handed . They left is to be avoided because it's only used for personal hygiene . So I would guess they are not allowed to write left handed either . Left handed people only make up 8 % of the worlds population . And forcing someone to change to fit in with everyone else is a form of discrimination . God forbid , someones different in this crazy world . They just can't have that .
i may have messed that up.... i meant that i can use a knife or a fork in either hand and sometimes catch myself switching them depending on the meal... .if i am cutting a steak i will keep my knife in my right hand but if there is nothing to cut atm i keep my fork in my right hand i can catch with either hand but can only throw with my right i shoot left in hockey and i also golf left handed...witch i am told is rare
Of course left handed peeps are infinitely more mysterious but I have learned to live with this... Seriously? I thought right handed people were the same as us just except that they use their other hand more. In fact I'm pretty sure that is the case.
my dad is left handed, was forced to be right, and had a lot of learning difficulties in school. he has maybe an 8th grade education, but he's very good at carpentry, plumbing, auto work...he built our home. my brother is left handed and got to stay that way. but he's right "footed" (like in kickball) what foot do you other lefties prefer? i'm right for both that's exactly how i eat a steak or piece of chicken
I can play on right with soccer as well but still prefer to kick with left. It's better than with my hands though, I'm a total leftie where it comes to my hands. This does not really bother typing with my right hand for instance since this is just buttonpushing but with writing with a pen my righthand is as useles as most righthanded peoples left hand (naturally).
I am left handed - of course at school they tried to get me to use my right hand although i am a rebel and they failed terribly... We are different to our right handed folk that is for sure!
Ah, please elaborate. I never knew for real. Also, do they really try to force lefties to write with their right hand and so on over there? That seems just crazy. I don't think they ever tried that here in the netherlands
I prefer also to kick a ball with the right foot , even though I'm left handed . Like in kickball , However i can only kick a football with the left foot . Strange how that works .
I would also like to know how exactly are you different. I'm not disagreeing with your statement. It's just that the majority of people I've ever been attracted to and fascinated by turned out to be left-handed. I guess I like spending time/am compatible with lefties? It baffles me a little. So, really, what's so different about you?
Sorry they're just like you and I Intellectual and performance measures were taken on 7688 school children tested on three behavioral measures of handedness. Test results were compared against all combinations of handedness and against a measure of socio-economic level. No relationships of any kind were found. Comparisons of the present results are made against 33 studies concerned with possible deficits associated with left-handedness. The results of the present study combined with a review of the majority of studies on deficit and handedness strongly suggest that the hypothesis of no difference in intellectual and cognitive performance between right- and left-handed subjects can be accepted as true. Yes here in the UK they try to get you to write with you right hand and catch balls etc with your right hand, I was told to hold my left hand behind my back.. I started skipping school from the age of 7 and even now I struggle if I have to go into an institutional environment- I can do it, altho ever fiber screams no.. find a tree and look at the sky. Sit and be with friends freely unrestricted. Lefties I find are more likely to be this way, than our right handed brothers and sista's.. I am extremely rebellious to the system, although I have tamed a little in my mind my heart is still wild. I find a lot of lefties have been like that too.. I cannot speak for everyone this is just my opinion on my life, I can spot a left handed person usually a mile off... we have a strong psychic ability. We dream a lot more, we tend to run our own business rather than be employed.. We are not driven as much by money more about living.. We find it hard to spell, cut in straight lines, think inside the box. There is a few ... What have you found different? if anything...
