legal help needed

Alright, so I got arrested, 1 felony, 4 other charges, felony is reckless endangerment. But I need info for how the story is. This girl quasi beat us last week, so we decided we're going to beat her this week. We told her friend we could get them hash, I took their money for it, and never came back. They came to my house, kicked on the door for 1/2 an hour, like they knew I was probably there but at the same time didn't. Eventually they got in(either for some reason the front door was unlocked or they broke in, but that door is never unlocked) and they came running upstairs and they started screaming and I was like "yo, you're beat, deal with it, if you don't want to be beat sometimes don't buy drugs" yada yada, I kept telling them to get the fuck out of my house, and I have a BB gun that's always in my room and was on the couch, and put my hand on it and said "get the fuck out of my house" and they finally left.

Long story short, I got arrested for reckless endangerment because they said I pointed a gun at her.(And larceny for the money, and threatening because of the gun and 2 more) now the larceny I'm fucked for, but my main question is the reckless endangerment charge. I never pulled a gun on them, and I got arrested for that, after they came into my house when they weren't supposed to be in there and I told them to get out repeatedly. How much is that going to hold up

in indiana, if someone breaks into your house, you have a right to shoot them dead as long as they're inside your home...not just on your property. i dunno how connecticut laws are though. i mean, if you've got people breaking into your place, and threatening you (even if it wasn't verbal, they broke in and were yelling at you so you could say you felt your safety was threatened). you'll have to find out what your local state laws are though. but it doesn't sound to me like you did anything wrong here.

 

Well did the cops find their cash on you?

If not just claim you have no idea of why they broke into your house, you just though they were going to rob you, especially if you have a Castle Law in your state.

 

dude, you ripped them off on a drug deal. are they seriously reporting you for robbing them?

 

from what i know its legal to pull a gun on an intruder...did you explain to the police that they broke in? and do they have any proof you took their money haha

 

Oh they know, I told them straight up I took the money to beat them because this girl beat us the week before, larceny I'm screwed on, but I guess the girl asked about getting the money back and Lovelace(one of the cops) was like "no, you got beat for drugs, you are in fact beat" like the money I still had in my pocket went towards my bail

 

and does a bb gun really qualify as real gun?

 

It's a pretty common thing to be able to shoot somebody that has broken into your house. Now if they make it sound like you lured them into your house or you allowed them to come in, that is different.

I don't know what to tell the police about how they gave you money for drugs, just don't incriminate yourself - be very careful about your words and if you feel you've let yourself stray down a bad path just refuse to speak any further about it. You got the 5th Amendment for a reason

if i were you, i'd put some serious effort into finding some free legal advice from a lawyer. (there's gotta be something you can find on google. maybe a nonprofit organization in your state or something). i know someone that just got fucked for ordering herself an ambien script while on ambien, sleepwalking (even though the sleepwalking thing is on bottle's warning label).

I think you'll be alright. Doesn't sound like you did too much wrong at all.. How much was your bail?

if you woulda denied taking their money you probably could have beat all the charges with a lawyer,if you were even charged at all.what were you thinking?

its not legal to pull a gun on an intruder that been knocking on your door for 30 mins. should of called the cops within the first 5 mins of knocking.

Suppose so...though that's a really weak argument. If someone busts into your house they are still invading. THEY should be charged for invasion, regardless.

It's a hardcore bitch move by those girls though. They could have had the cops called on them, but they busted into YOUR house, and then you are charged for threat? Is there more to the story or are your cops seriously that fucking stupid?

 

i couldn't deny taking the money, that was seen on a camera. But wtf, they come into my house which they are not invited to, come up here and start threatening us, saying they're going to send these kids to beat out heads in and refuse to leave when I tell them to

 

Is your front door still kicked in? Did the cops see it? Did you explain that they broke into your house?

What are they reporting? You pulled the gun on them and then what did they do? Run away? Leave? What did they say you did to the cops?

 

oh, i dunno then. if they weren't actually threatening you physically, you might be fucked. i'd seriously get some professional legal advice if i were you. i'm really not sure. there any lawyers on the forum?

 

breaking and entering is still breaking and entering though even if the knocked for 30min...if i go and knock on a door or 30min i cant just break in and not get in trouble

 

I DIDNT pull a gun on them, the gun is always on the couch in my room(we shoot pot seeds at each other when we're high), I put my hand on it after they wouldn't leave and were threatening to send people to kick our asses
