I'm sending Punch a friend request. Because I think she's cool from what I've read, alternative in a way and very honest. And I like that in a woman.

 

My daughter's BFF wanted me to serve BBQ and sides to 150 people at her wedding so she could save $200. This girl thinks I'm stupid. The caterer would charge $300 to do it but she wanted to pay me $100. GFY girl. I cannot be that easily bought.

??? How do you do even $300 for 150 people, $2 a head?

 

That's not the food cost. That's the extra the caterer wanted to charge for staff to put the food on the plates as you go through the line.

It's ridiculous to me.

It's a barn wedding venue. Put the food out on a buffet and be done with it if you don't want to pay servers.

I'm not so hard up for $100 that I want the job of spooning bbq and beans onto plates for 150 guests.

 

I have too many relevant things to complain about to complain about irrelevant things!!

Aeri, make the wedding a BYO wedding. That's what I'm doing.

Wedding Reception BBQ, BYO sausages and drinks.

That's why my invitation will say. :rofl:

This girl's whole wedding is ass-backwards.

She planned and announced the wedding.

A few weeks later she announced that they'd be married for a few weeks, secretly; but they still want to have the big "wedding".

Whatever.

It reminds me of that thread where women were marrying themselves just so they could have an album full of photos of them in wedding dresses.

 

Yeah that sounds a bit bonkers.

 

...And, she chose a venue about 100 miles from where all of us live. Lots of people are booking motel rooms for the night after the wedding. That's $96 to spend the night because she chose a venue across the state?

Glad all this is saving her money! It's sure not helping the rest of us.


Oh! The big one is that she's having her bachelorette party at a Florida, Beach which is 6 hours away from here.


Jesus. I hope my daughter isn't this crazy when she decides to have a wedding.

 

When my daddy was blessed with 4 daughters he told us he isn't paying for our weddings. he said maybe the first of us, which was my second eldest sister. I'm actually not even sure if he did or not.

We will have a very secluded one and I'm not even sure I'll have one friend there. Maybe just a celebrant. And it'll be most likely up the North of Norway somewhere. I've had this desire, which I first read in Starsust novel, where we'd stand hand in hand on the top of the world, make a small slit in our hands, hold each other's hands and splash a few droplets of our mixed blood into the ocean and let our marriage trickle down through all the oceans of the world. The world is ours.

Is the dream anyway. Easily possible.
