im really not sure about the new levellers album, i think i might borrow it before i buy it.

i dunno tho, just the last stuff i heard was come on, which was grand! so who knows

 

I'd buy it even if it turned out to be as shit as Hello Pig, but then I put the fanatic in fan (yes that works, hmmm). I've got the singles though and they're great, which gives me a positive feeling that this new album will be pretty good

Hi Gill, I bought it this morning! Am very impressed with it. Some really catchy tunes on there which have me dancing and singing along from the very first beat. Having grown up with Levellers tunes playing, and still believing that Levelling the Land is the best album made by anyone ever, I can't go as far as saying that it's their best work, but it's certainly up there, I do love it. I'm going to write a full review of it for Counter Blasts:

Got mine yesterday and wouldn't let myself listen to it until I'd done a fir bit of revision, but it is good. I think it'll be a grower, more than anything. I really like track three, but some of it did just fade into each other. More Mouth to Mouth than anything, I think. More indie-band-with-a-fiddle than folky stuff. I do like it, and i think I prefer it to Greenblade Rising.

Oh, and Gill... you're not the same Gill who I camped with at Glasto 2002? With all the Levellers people under the gazebo? Known as Blue on the Old Board of levellers.co.uk??? Just checking!
