    Lightning strikes outside my window,
    thunder racks my brain.
    Darkness swallows life beside me,
    elevates my pain.
    Another night without her touch,
    and I feel only cold.
But she is gone away tonight,
there is no one left to hold.

I never thought she'd go away,
    it doesn't matter now.
    Because she's never coming back,
and I just don't know how,
How to face the day without her in it,
    or even how to breathe.
And I don't know what I could have done,
to ask her not to leave.
But this long night won't let me go,
    I hear the voices say,
somehow I have to let this pain go,
and face just one more day.

    Sunlight rises outside my window,
and there is no more rain.
Last night a vision came down to me,
as if to ease my pain.
She had a smile like heaven,
    and eyes like summertime.
She may not be here now,
but someday she will be all mine.

The lightning strikes sometimes, but sometimes lightning comes and goes.
And how we learn to cope with our hurt, only heaven knows.
But every time a door may close there's a window with a crack.
And every time we think our love's gone, it surely will come back.

Thank you Glen. That means alot to me, and yes, it is helpful for me to put the feelings into words. I am doing better, just taking it a day at a time. The world keeps spinning and all that jazz. :)

You thread was duplicated three times when the site went down for maintenance. The other two have been deleted. It was a bad joke.

Oh! haha I'm sorry, I didn't even realize it. I posted it and left the room and when I came back the site was down. I guess it really did crash three times. lol

Good poem. I, however, would feel blessed if mine had simply left. So here's something to be thankful for: she could have stayed and daily tortured you emotionally, and then called the cops and falsely accused you of battery and had you arrested and ruined your entire life. Such is my dilemma. You are, by comparison, fortunate. :)
