I'm in my golden years, but I'm still working. I'm thinking about living somewhere where I can be retired and among gay people. I've looked at a few places that look like communities. Many are out of my price range. Some are for the outdoorsy folks.
Has anyone else here shopped around?

Rainbow Vista - Senior Gay Community ... This one has thus far stood out the most in my searches.

    That place sounds wonderful!

It definitely makes a big difference to be among your own people a lot. At 63, I'm not retired yet, but a few years ago I started hanging out more and more with a large gay men's social group in my area, and it's made a huge difference in my life. The group has two social meetups in restaurant/bars every week, with anywhere between 8-20 guys usually, as well as other social events, and when I'm among them (or is that amongst?), I feel at home, and feel like I can truly be myself. They are definitely my people. I have had sex with a few of them as well, and sex with other men is hugely important for me (exclusively so since 2020). So even if you don't end up in an LGBTQ retirement community, make sure you're in a place that has a lot of gay social activities. That's also the case if you have a gay partner, whether you're monogamous or not. I definitely fantasize about that kind of situation, and living in a gay community like you're talking about. Heck, I'd love if all of my country Canada and everyone in it was gay, something one gay lover and close friend of mine and I often fantasize about.

The very best of good luck and good fortune in your search, and have the absolute best closing chapter of your life! I can't tell you how much I look forward to mine and how gay I want it to be.
