After reading several articles and some questioning on my part, can drugs make you mentally ill? I had a pretty bad bout with every drug, you name it, from about 15-22 years old. Some of those acid, E and coke benders were pretty bad and felt pretty crazy after those periods. A psych told me that I am bi-polar. She particulary said the E probably caused some damage since I told eight pills a couple nights. Could all of the drugs have caused my problems you think?
Yes drugs after used a lot can alter the way you think and make you act diffrent. Like long term crack smoking can cause you to be jittery. Long term lsd use can cause you to become parnoid, have flashbacks, and maybe become schziophrenic. Smoking weed a lot causes you to become calm and sometimes sleepy and causes you to day dream more often. E after long time use can cause mood swings so maybe that's why that lady thinks your bi-polar.
Of course you can do permanent damage. But, unless you went really nuts with the X, you'll probably be ok. The most important thing to do is to stay sober long enough to give your brain time to recoup.
Drugs will not usally cause a mental problum but what they will do is make the mental problum one has worse. StayLoose is right the worst thing one can do to the mind and body is binge for long periods of time on any kind of drug, hallucinogens and stimulants beeing the worst drugs for affecting mental illness. The best thing you can do for your over all well being and mental health is give the drugs a rest for some time. I wish you all the Best !!!
