This is a necklace I made in my metals class, and I think it's the best piece of jewelry I've ever made. I made everything but the stone, I cut every single link for the chain and soldered it, and I cut the pendant (which my teacher thought to be a ninja throwing star at first) out and soldered all that, and it took for goddamn ever, I probably worked for a total of about 30-40 hours on it. I'm making up an art portfolio for some college classes I want to take, and want to include at least 3 metals pieces in it, along with my paintings, drawings, and screen printing. What do you guys think of it, think it's worthy to show as a representation of myself?
Nah I bought the thing that way, was only $2 too It's fairly cheap plastic, but is somewhat old, before I set it I looked at the back and it said "Produced in West Germany."
That's really nice, I actually really like it. It would be nice if the plastic centerpiece was made of Onyx. Do you know what the hieroglyphs mean?
Thank you my original idea for it was onyx, but I found that instead, and it was unique so I went with that instead. (Not to mention it was a hell of a lot cheaper) I found the centerpiece in a little store called "Knot Just Beads" here in Milwaukee. They carry really unique things at prices that art students can afford, so I go there often now that I'm in these classes. For the other 2 pieces I'm currently working on, I bought all my supplies there, stones included, for less than $15... And I'm planning on looking up what the hieroglyphs mean, but as of right now I don't know...
My brother is a student in hieroglyphs. If you could get a clearer shot of them, perhaps he could tell you.
Thanks Dapablo (I'm sorry to call you by that, but I don't know your real name!) And Matt, I'll steal my dad's camera someday soon and take a clear picture of it. Thanks for the help, I'm really curious now...
Ah, I should of assumed it wasn't Matthew, sorry! I'll remember that from now on I'm gonna go take a picture now... Be back soon!
