jj...anyhow. Seriously, I have been sitting here wondering, what is the extent of happiness, and can you force yourself to be that way? I'm a happy person by nature, and I was wondering if it was this way for everyone...
you can force a happiness for the sake of pleasing others, but i don't know if it's possible to force a happiness that will be secure and long-lasting on yourself. i'm a happy person too - i am also somewhat high strung, and that doesn't exactly make me happy, but I just try to let things roll and become happy. I guess, in a way, you can force happiness on yourself by learning to relax and enjoy life... but in my experience you can't just suddenly be BOOM fully and truly happy. Happiness must come from inside to be complete... outside influences that cause happiness must eventually fade, right? i think i got the question completely wrong but i rambled on and on
no...input like that is what I am looking for. I am a happy person by nature, this is true, but sometimes things on the outside of my "self" tend to get in the way, and I have to focus around so that I don't become negative. Sometimes I lose the battle, but not usually. I will only allow life to get me down so far, you know? ;D
Hi Ashtonsmom, I'd say I'm a happy person also, Although in the beginning of winter when it gets dark at 4:00 I sort of get depressed,This happens every year. I'm still workin' on changing that.My happiness comes natural I can't force it to come on..PEACE
My natural state is depressed, negative and suicidal, so I enjoy happiness more than the average person.
if you're a happy person, negative influences can only hurt you so much, like you said. if you've established a good, respectful, and kind relationship with yourself, you always have that inside of yourself to turn to. happiness is totally about perception, and how those perceptions create what you view as reality. some people play victim to reality and let it beat them down and make them unhappy, while others assume responsibility for some part (or a lot) of the reality they percieve, and thus learn to change and love it. how does that sound?
Unhappiness comes from the beliefs that 1. Life is real 2. Life is a test that someone else is going to grade 3. Life has rules 4. Spending time grading your own life 5. Attempting to grade other people’s lives. 6. Some one is going to give you 200 for passing go.
