We are trying to see what to start on, we know that we should give her cereals first, but, don't want to. So, we thought that we would try fruits and vegies, but, can't remember if we start fruits first then vegies, or vegies, then fruits. We started Skye with sweet potatoes, I think, but, then again we did give him rice and barley, then stopped since it takes iron outa the breastmilk that I was giving him, oh, and this is Hippyland's wife, I can't remember if we gave him fruits. We know that she should just get the breastmilk all the time, but, just thought that we'd give her a little more in her diet. I could use a little advice, or help, Please. And thank you all mama's and papa's.
I started both of my kiddies on veggies first. And yeah, it was the orange ones for them too. Sweet potatoes, carrots & pumpkin and then the green beans & peas... you get the idea. And then after that, we got into applesauce, bananas, peaches... and all of the non-berry, non-citrus fruits. If I remember right, I think I was told to start veggies before fruits so they wouldn't get used to the sweetness of the fruits & then refuse to eat veggies? Sorry I don't remember for sure, it's been awhile. love, mom
Orange fruits and veggies first, doesn't matter which. Avacado is also very good for baby's first food (nutrient dense and lots of good fats). Then move on to peas and green beans, spinach, potato, etc. I remember what Brighid said on the matter once: red, orange, and yellow fruits and veggies first, then lean fish, then chicken, then dairy, and grains should be last.
