    i can help you out.
if your near the canadian u.s.a. border with minnesota just hike into the u.s.a. to duluth.
it is not hard to do. i've crossed that part of the border "illegally" with no problem at all. one hell of a lot of the native americans have, relatives on both side of the border. they use their canoes, hike, snow mobiles etc. to cross the border all the time. it is sooooooooo damn easy to cross the candaian/ u.s.a. border.

i now live most of the time in texas.
whatever you do, don't ever try to hike across the mexican-u.s.a. border!
you will be up shit creek without a paddle if, you try that down here!

if you do decide to cross the border and come to duluth, i can direct you, to a yurt, you can live in for a while.
a childhood friend of mine, owns it. people hiking in the woodland use it all the time. most of them, leave things behind as payment for the use of the yurt.
if you could leave something like a hand crank radio, you could staythere for about as long as need too.
