Dosen't Even Deserve 1 Star, January 18, 2005 A Kid's Review This unwatchable mess is by far the worst movie of the 90s. Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro give some really bad performances and director Terry Gilliam directs with odd camera angles that this makes it an unwatchable blunder. The main flaw was the lack of coherent plot so the movie features to druggies in Las Vegas doing drugs, acting stupid, and one sees weird hallucinations(a bunch of lizards in a lounge) and the other character acts crazy and pukes a lot. The cast is good and the movie wastes their talent and each all-known cast member makes a cameo. The movie could have been better if it had a decent plot and if it made sense. This dosen't deserve a Criterion DVD or 1 star. (haha someone left this review on amazon.com for fear and loathing in las vegas..how funny)
yea, theres only people who GET it, and people who just dont and think evefrything in that movie is pointless
I just watched that like 1 second ago it was an awesome movie when was it made? just wondering lol it was sooo cool its now one of my favorites of all time next to 28 days later it made me wanna get acid and smoke cigarrets with a hat on and sunglasses
fear and loathing has a plot: the quest to discover the American dream through getting fucked up beyond all recognition. In a nutshell, Thompson's attempt to discover what it truly means to be an American through drugs and alcohol are ultimately successful. Johnny Depp's portrayal of the modern non-conformist is impeccable. It's not the plot that makes this movie but the ramblings of the Gonzo journalist about how this country has de-evolved. He explains how the American people only survive to fulfill material needs and no longer have souls. The American people no longer live meaningful lives and this point is so clear in fear and loathing.
know what you mean dude. people go on about how great the movie was. it was good, just not that good.
