this isnt nothing new. Men have been wearing nylons underclothes for 100 years..
I wouldnt like them covering my feet cause nylon is a sweating fabric... I dont think it would be to attractive to take off your shoes and smell like cheeze..
As a legging for warmth, Lycra is a tougher and more durable and dont have footies..
Tights are way warmer than long johns, or thermals. How the fuck people think thermals keep you warm Ill never know.. the fabric is full or holes.. WTF?

I have a wool pair of those I wear with my highland kilt and boots in winter. Doesn't keep the frank and beans warm though...

 

I've been thinking about this for some time. I hate long johns, I always find them too tight, especially around the crotch area, obviously. I considered recently instead just buying womens stockings, or tights or something, maybe cutting them off, and using them to keep my legs warm in the winter. Like, who's going to fucking see them anyway?
