ok, I was cleaning out my storage room the other day, and I came across an old bag of marbles that I won when I was like 7 years old. There's TONS of them..... I was trying to think of some crafts that I can do with them. I don't want to throw them out...(blah, I never throw anything out....I'm such a packrat)....and yeah, I know that there's something cool to do with em. Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking of using them in some macrame necklaces and stuff, but that's all I've been able to come up with at this point....
hummm....a booby trap....... i used to put them into a bowl and put some candles in them, kinda like the vase thing.
wrap them in wire and use them as pendants get one of those lamps with a hollow base and fill the base full of marbles
You can fry marbles,it makes them crack, and then they catch the light so beautifully. Then you could use them to wire wrap or put into vases, etc.
i didn't know that about the frying thing, that sounds cool. I'll have to go try that.....this might sound stupid...but they don't stick to the pan, do they?
Here's some quick directions for that..... http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Prairie/5751/friedmrb.htm
If you want to make steppin stones out of concrete, you can use them to decorate them. I use them when I make concrete art.
that's a cool idea, unkle john! You're blessed to have so many marbles, teeny. The other day i was cleaning house and I came across an empty jar and I was like, "I wish I had some marbles to put in here..."
does anyone have any experience with frying marbles? it scares me for some reason. i don't want a faceful of shattered glass because i put some marbles in a hot frying pan! but i'm really curious to try it out
Or you could make a glass topped table with an inset pit under the glass full of marbles so you look through the glass and see marbles.
~*LoL*~ This is what I can tell people that ask if I lost my marbles!!! I can say no, I didn't loose 'em I fried 'em! Sorry but I'm easily amused and this just cracked me the fuck up! Until now, I've said, no they aren't lost...I just have 'em in a jar on the shelf and haven't been using them much.
gdhmomchild-lol! That would be a funny one to hear! I'd like to see the reaction on people's faces when they hear that! lol
these are all really cool ideas. Sadily, I live in an apartment and don't have a garden or anything (bummer)....but I'm sure that I can find somewhere else to put them!
