Marijuana through a shisha

ive heard mixed rumours about it.

anyone tried it? does it work? is it worse or better? any reccomended way of doing it?


me and some friends want to try it but dont want to waste a load of weed on it..

 

i'm not sure what "through a shisha" is supposed to mean, but i assume you mean out of a hookah designed for smoking shisha in. shisha is tobacco and fruit/herbal flavoring covered in either molasses or honey, its a very wet and sticky blend that is supposed to taste delicious smoked out of a hookah. you need a peice of charcoal to keep it going, though. common flavors are things like apple, rose, grape, mint, coconut etc.

but yeah, you can smoke marijuana out of a hookah. people do it all the time. if you smoke tobacco anyway and want to make the session more time consuming, relaxing and leisurely, not to mention tastier, try mixing your pot with some shisha and smoking the hookah in the traditional manner. it should definitely help with conserving your weed, too, because hookahs generally have very large bowlpacks. i've not done it this way, but i heard that you want a third to half of it to be pot. you'll need the charcoal to keep it burning most likely.

i dunno, but it would seem like a great idea. not that smoking is good for you to begin with, but charcoal gives off a LOT of carbon monoxide from what i have heard. you'd think there'd be enough in the smoke already, wouldnt you?

anyway, i dunno....i used to hang out in a place called the shi-sha lounge here in ohio after the columbus smoking ban passed, only because it was one of the few places you could still hang out, get something to eat and drink and have a cigarette and read or whatever. never actually spent the 10 dollars to smoke the shisha though, i'd just stick with my cigarettes. now i'm kicking myself for not trying before i gave up the nicotine habit (trying hard!) anyway, they always used the coals at this cafe, and i think they do at the other popular hookah place.

they look fun, and i know i like pot through a pot hookah.....should be fine to mix it in your shisha

 

im gonna sound stupid here but;

you say pot hookah..is there some special kind of hookah you need to smoke it? i only ask this because my friend tried it and he didnt get stoned at all..

 

its not special per se....but you can tell if it was designed for pot or tobacco. usually if its made for tobacco the bowl is metal and VERY large, the base may be either metal or glass, but it will probably be ornate. the peices should come apart, but the bowl doesnt slide. if its made for pot, it should have a smaller (but sometimes still pretty large) bowl pack, may be shaped or decorated like a bong, and it is without any kind of tray or special tools for the charcoal or anything like that. the bowl would look like any other metal or glass bowl in most cases, and often it will be a sliding peice.

You can smoke pot out of either kind of hookah. A real hookah is like the tall ornate one. The other ones I think of more as bongs with hoses. Distinguishing feature of the hookah, to me at least, is the charcoal vaporizing the pot, rather than having a direct flame. But thats just nit picking, if it gets you stoned, who cares what its called, right?

You can most definitely use a traditional hookah to get stoned. Very very stoned, from my experience =D I've never cut pot with shisha, but I dont see why you couldn't. Same as cutting pot with tobacco to roll a spliff, 'cept the hookah tastes nice and fruity!

I had a friend who couldn't make a good seal on the hose, and therefore couldn't get stoned off the hookah. I dont know why he couldn't work it, its not that hard. But thats the only way I can see that you wouldn't get stoned from a hookah.

oh yeah btw, i dont think you put the charcoal directly on top of the bowl...i think people put foil or something that works the same to cover the bowl with a few holes poked in it, and the charcoal rests on that? maybe they don't....hell, i'm stoned and i've not done it myself. but i think the charcoal is somehow lifted off of the pot

yeah, the tobacco does burn slow though. i have a hookah which i think was probably made for pot, but its sort of a toss up. it does have a pretty large bowl and could probably support a small charcoal like you use for incense...but i never got the charcoal lol....i just used it for herb...but when i bought it, i wanted to smoke the tobacco so i bought some....i think it was banana flavored. i never got it to work with a lighter, and didnt bother getting the charcoal. but i did try putting just a little of that tobacco (VERY little) down the center of a blunt, completely surrounded by pot. this wet tobacco in the middle and the tobacco wrap on the outside made it burn even slower than a blunt normally does. worked much better than putting honey on the inside....

 

Yup. Put some tin foil tightly over the top and poke a lot of holes through it. If you're worried about using tin foil, you can find metalic hookah screens that wont give you alzheimer's or anything.

i think they found higher than normal aluminum levels to be more symptomatic than causal of alzheimers. but i'm not a doctor, so don't quote me on that

 

Unless it was his first time smoking. Some people don't get stoned the first one or two times they smoke. I never had that problem

it has to be the shortest and yet highest high i've ever had!!

So a buddy and i were bored one warm after noon a few weeks ago, and so with nothing better to do, we loaded a big hookah bowl half shisha and half bud and just chilled in the middle of a park smokin it for like an hour. It was nuts great way to chill, one benefit was that it didnt smell as strongly as pot, so it was easy to get away with publically.

I smoke from a traditional hookah all the time. You can just fill the bowl with a good amount and use a lighter to get it lit, then if it has 2 hoses, you can have 2 people going all the time to keep it cherried.
Works amazingly, and you get SO baked off it, so incredibly gone.
