I was going to go see this a while back with a friend. I haven't got around to it yet. Looks kind of interesting. Anyone seen it?
I thought it was the best Woody Allen film in a long time. Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers are both great. I really liked the Hichcockian flair to the film too. It shares a lot in common with Crimes and Misdemeanors, but the theme is somewhat different. This is a darker movie than Crimes and Misdemeanors which was a comedy. I laughed out loud a couple of times during Match Point, mostly at some of the sly details Allen adds to the characters, but Match Point is not a comedy. Like most of Mr. Allen's movies, Match Point is a treatise on Existentialism, Nihlism and Chaos Theory. But the packaging is completely different and the conclusion is more fine tuned. Match Point isn't the best Woody Allen film ever made, but it is his best in a very long time and very much worth watching.
I agree. Go see Matchpoint. It is a very well-crafted story. Beautifully acted. I hear Woody has another film set in London in the can. If it is true will look forward to seeing that one too
