I've made a new thread, seeing as my other "journey" was just a bundle of shite. (http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=431119&f=209) Well... I put this in my other thread but ill put it again. I put my first dread in, in December last year, and put four more in afterwards. I currently have five that I put in myself. The rest of my hair is neglect, which I've been doing since August, so not that long really. Anyway. The five dreads that I put in are doing really great, and I will put up some pictures of them soon. Neglect is going slow of course, but my hair is starting to knot together and such, pictures will also be up soon. Yes, I dyed my hair (again), just saying this as people are probably gonna be like "STOP DYING YOUR HAIR" etc, yet I don't really dye it that often. Anywho. Hello again.
So...here's the most recent picture, taken earlier today. Yeah I was being a derp. I'm doing a photography course and me and a few mates were just messing around in one of the studios. Here it is: *Note* My head was upside down that's why my hair is sticking out at odd angles wher the hairs are sorta joining together, so yeah xD
The root on my fat-ish dread is making my head feel sore? (the dread with the beads on in the picture above). I think it's because of the beads, but I hardly ever take them out, so i'd have thought it had gotten used to them being there...
Yeah that colour is really quite cool. How tight is the root beneath the bead? I think Jimbo's got the right idea. And the rest is starting to sectio nicely
Thank you ^^ I guess the beads are quite tight towards the root. Whenever I wash my hair I take them out, so I might just leave them out for a week or so, so my head isn't sore
I have a congo going on one of the dreads I put in last december sort of split into two but is still joined at the root, I love it xD
My hairs starting to get really knotty now. >dies from excitement<. I didn't realize how knotty it was until I put my hair in a ponytail earlier.
Well, an important part of my life just left. I'm feeling rather crappy right now. Like. "I look a state. Look at my hair." sort of things, etc.
I shall. I guess if they don't wanna be around why should I be the one to give a fuck. But yeah anyways. I haven't got round to buying any baking soda etc, so i'm still washing my hair with a bit of shampoo and soap...
I have question. What would happen if I curled my hair? Would if fuck up the whole process? I'm curious
I curled my hair with soft hair rollers when I had dreads. Worked out rather well. Tried with the curling iron and they were to fat to hold a curl that way. (But no, it won't fuck up your hair.) Love the color!
Hello I'm quite...excited.After looking and feeling up my hair today, i've realized that there are dreads forming...I didn't think they were but there is! I was quite happy. Yes...updates. Two of my five dreads have formed a congo and are really fricken bushy and knotty on the scalp. What to do? It's basically trying to eat the root of all the dreads I put in myself. I've had to rip them all apart today. A lot of my newly formed ones are knotting in the middle, and haven't fully knotted yet, of course. Anyhow i'm quite happy with them they've been making my scalp quite itchy recently though, what could be the cause of this? Oh yeah, and I keep getting a lot of dandruff from them...normal?
Um, right so I have like, a ball of matted hair at the back of my head, what do I do with this? Do I just pulled it down or something...?????
Even though you want to go "neglect" you still have to maintain the little buggars by ripping them into sections. Best way to do it is to do it in the shower, that way you can slowly work the knots down as you pull apart. Best of luck!
