i was deep deep asleep listening to a meditation type hypnosis thingy.
i was sitting at my chair while extremely deep "in", eyes closed and such, when all of sudden i was in my dogs perspective vision from my height(6'5). (but it was far more confusing and weird than that simple sentense).
i "awoke" with a panic attack, i was quite scared and confused as to where i was.
    sooo much for peacfull meditation.
this was the first time iv done this for a fairly long time.
    is this common?

sounds like a waking dream...yes...it's fairly common to see weird things and have uncanny experiences especially with any technique which is done from sleep and dream state...moreover...they can be scary at times...but that's not necessarily a panic attack in the strict sense....peace

This kind of "troubled peace" can happen when your system is not used to meditate, and that you are not used to "surnatural" stuff. Keep at it and use techniques that will practice your energy system to evolve and enhance your meditation while keeping you in some form of consciousness from the point of view of your Spirit. From this point of view, you will never be panicked. I used the kuji-in technique to learn some of this stuff: http://www.kujiin.com . Best of luck in your meditation experiences.
