First let me say this, I was born and raised a Christian, and while I hate to be associated with Christians themselves (I am not the stereotype, trust me.) I certainly believe in one God who is the creator. Now, that being said, I believe that all religions have something of value that can be learned. New Agers (forgive me, I don't know the proper term for people who practice new age) seem to be experts on self reflection and all are very in tune and at peace with themselves. Which is why I am coming to you guys. I have been practicing meditation for about 2 or 3 months, and I am certainly improving. I am fairly skilled at clearing my mind with the breathing technique and can maintain that for about 15-30 minutes. However I noticed today that I dropped in to a sort of state of paralysis, much like that activated by REM Sleep. This made me wonder, can one lucid dream without being asleep? I have tried to achieve lucid dreaming for about a year, but have never been able to get it down. However I feel much more certain that I could practice Lucid Dreaming through meditation if it is actually within the realm of possibility. Thanks in advance for any advice. Also, has anyone used Binuaral Beats/Isochronic Tones as a meditation aid? And do they actually help?
Yes, yes and yes to all your questions. And when i drop a 2 hour meditation session my mind is in a whole different reality. Call it lucid dreaming if you will.
Any advice on how to achieve this state easier? And how to not fall asleep? I still fall asleep sometimes. Lol.
You have to focus on something, control your breathing and maintain body posture while also maintaining perfect relaxation in your limbs.
It also depends on your brain waves state. Once you get good at it, you can train yourself to instantly access the Alpha state of being during meditation, which is where you can experience lucid-like dream experiences, as well as, well... do a ton of other cool shit. But really, search for it. Alpha state is the place to be.
