Okay, I am hoping to get some expert advice about piercing. I assume that piercing the foreskin is relatively safe. I tried to get a needle through, but I don't think I had the skin tight enough and I just couldn't push it all the way through. It started bleeding on both sides, but it just didn't want to go. (I'm kind of a wimp about it too. I started sweating and getting light-headed. haha) Now I have some dark blood under the far-side needle point. It isn't bleeding anymore, so I don't think I hit anything major. I might try again some day after a few drinks, or if I have some sadistic helper. My question is if I need to do anything special to the spot where there is blood trapped under the skin, or will it go away by itself after a while? Any advice for next time?
Sounds like you created a little bit of a hematoma(bleeding under the skin). Its not major and will clear itself up. Foreskins are relatively safe to pierce yourself. As far as advice, make sure everything is sterile and use high quality needles and jewelery. I would order a special piercing needle(bmezine.com) because it is pre sterilized, available in many sizes, and super sharp. It sounds like you were using a household sewing needle which is actually very dull. A good needle will not create resistance to speak of, which decreases pain and helps with healing. Also, consider going with a larger gauge piece of jewelery than a standard ear hoop. Thin piercings can actually "cheesecutter" through the skin with pressure from sex or masturbation. I would go with a 12 ga or bigger piercing. In terms of the procedure. Mark where you want the entrance and exit hole, pull the skin up tight nd shine a flashlight through it to look for vessels or nerves, and pierce in one smooth motion. A pair of clamps will help hold the skin if you're doing it alone. Cheers
It's starting to go away. It's more of a bruise now. And, it was a brand new 16ga piercing needle. A clamp with a hole in the jaws might be the thing. The needle is hollow, but the jewelry doesn't fit in the end like I've heard it should. Is that a big deal? ...Yea, I think I'll leave it for another time. Maybe next time the idea strikes me as interesting. We'll see.
I can't really visualize how you want the piercing to go, so I can't really say. If you want this to be a permanent piercing, you need to make sure that the positioning is such that there won't be pressure on the jewelery when you are flaccid or erect. Yes, the jewelery should fit into the end of the needle. If it doesn't, it will snag as it passes under the skin...and that would suck. Honestly, 16ga is too small for a genital piercing. it will likely rip out. You're better off with a 12 or so. You could try using a bit of cork to protect yourself from unintentional sticks. You should check out bmezine.com. They have a lot oof self-piercing info and pictures etc. If you have no real idea on how to go about this, you might want to find a reputable piercer. This is something that a specialty piercing will have a lot of experrience in. Cheers
Yeah I'd definately recommend not using 16ga for the piercing.. As for the jewellery fitting the end of the needle. If the needle is made as a piercing blade there should be a concave grove in the end; kind of a dome pushed in, it wont be much but its enough to help slot the jewellery against the needle to aid in holding it together. If youve never pierced before, and especially an area like foreskin, and ESPECIALLY with that small a size, I would expect theres a high chance that youll lose the connection between the needle and jewellery while transferring it though. If that happens in your case itl probaly mean a completely wasted experiment unless you get lucky and find the exit hole. If you're trying to insert a captive ring this wont be so bad but with a bar, which will probaly be externally threaded, if you lose the connection you shouldnt attempt to try to find the exit. Stress like that will just cause the thread to do a bit of damage inside while trying to find the hole. If youve got insertion problems try to find a catheter/canula needle. Although its hard to find them bigger than 14ga, and it insertion wasnt a problem Id recommend a standard needle over them anyday. Best option.. go to a pro. But if you want to do it yourself Id suggest jumping on bmezine.com and look up the piercing in their encyclopedia, it may have more info there, or looking through the experiences to see if theres any DIY foreskin, or just normal foreskin experiences in their that could help.
