Why are they headlining Bonnaroo? WHY?! I fucking hate Metallica. I wish Radiohead was headlining again... *whine whine whiinnnneee*
Yeah, bullshit. I'm not going. James Hetfield isn't getting a fucken cent off me. On a more serious note... the lineup sucks. There are a couple of good bands, but it sucks. I bet that Zep will play, but it still won't make it worth it. I'll wait and see who they add before I buy any tickets.
I don't know about Zep being there seeing as LEZ Zeppelin is already playing. That'd be weird if the real Led Zeppelin they ran into their other dimension lesbian counterparts...
Yeah, I saw that... I think that it'd be funny. I bet that they're just waiting to announce Led Zeppelin's playing until the ticket prices go up. The assholes. I couldn't go last year, but the lineup was just awesome. So much more jammy/reggaeish. ...I just can't fucken believe the Metallica. I'm not that big of a Pearl Jam fan either. Since when was peace and love interchanged with teenage angst.
This is the first year I'm actually considering going, just because I have a couple places to crash from here to Tennessee, but the only things I'm SUPER excited about is Zach Galifianakis and BB King and I'm not sure if that's even worth the journey... Plus I'm utterly disgusting just thinking about sharing camping grounds with sweaty, greasy haired Metallica fans. BLAH!
Yeah, the atmosphere won't be the same. As another good thing slowly goes down the shitter. Oy, TheShow... what are some good festivals to hit up?
yea... 'roo sold out awhile ago.. this is just now the stone cold solid evidence of it.. doesnt really surprise me
wakarusa was fun heard they've backed off the security compared to a couple of years back...lineup looks fairly good this year, LEFTOVER SALMON!!!, 10k lakes is supposed to be a great time. I'm all about the Telluride bluegrass fest, yonder, salmon emmit nershi, but then again I love me some good slamgrass. Yarmoygrass is another one I've heard great things that I'm hitting up this year. High Sierra is a winner, Northwest string summit. I've heard good reviews about East coast festies but that's not my realm, but wonka is knowledgable.
Plus Jack Johnson is back so you know thats gonna draw the drunken fratboy crowd as well. I've been the last couple years and it was amazing, but this year due to most likely taking a new job I wont have the vacation to take that soon.
I'm gunna go and if the vibe sucks its only cuz you make it suck. There are always bro's at roo. I bet a lot of the metallica fans wont go because you cant buy a one day ticket. Plus roo has the rep of hippie fest so that might keep some away. And going by stereotypes they wont want to go out into the heat for four days to see just metallica unless their hardcore. I'm going, I plan on having a balls to wall good time. Metallica will just be nap time to rest up/ get a good spot for what looks like a good late night line up (MMJ, Sigur Ros, !!!) BB and zach are going to friggin sweet
I cant wait until june. I am turning 18 during bonnaroo so I know I am gonna have a blast no matter what. Plus if Pearl Jam plays Saturday (my Birthday) It would be better than last year(clutch at bonnaroo). I am also looking forward to metallica. I have been a fan since I heard of them. Plus I dont think Jack Johnson is actually gonna headline. I think after tickets go on sale they are gonna anounce a suprise headliner so everyone will stop bitching about metallica.
If your on the northeast mountain jam in NY and allgood in WV are the festis to go to. Theres also an awesome bluegrass festival in maryland.
10,000 lakes festival is absolutely amazing!!! i was so sad that i had to sell my ticket last year because of financial fallout... im definately gonna try and get there this year
bonnaroo line up is like cochella this year. not my thing. ill be heading down to langerado in less than a month. after that its all small headie fests for the rest of the year. i prefer the local/regional bands to most of the national jam bands anyway. but seriously, metallica? wtf?
I live about an hour away from where mountain jam is held at Hunter Mtn. I havent made it down yet though. Ive heard good things about it though. Funny thing is I go down to Hunter just about every other weekend that Mountain Jam isnt there for mountain biking. Whats the vibe like and how strict is the security there? Also what do they do for campin accomodations? Im thinking about heading down there this year because if I take a new job I dont think I'll have the vacation time to take a week off for Bonnaroo. As where Mtn Jam I can turn into a weekend thing and not miss a day.
I've never been to mountain jam, although i planned on going last year because of the line up. From what i've heard its a lot of good people, not all drugged out wookies, and security is pretty lax for the most part. I was judging it by it's line up this year which looks really good, levon helm from the band is playing and a bunch of good ones. Google it and you'll see. If your close to WV , def hit up allgood, i went there last 2 years and its my fav 3 days of the year. If your worried about security, then it doesnt matter there at all. Its basically a free for all.
