What up this forum? Havent posted a thread here in a minute. But yea my Microkorg should be arriving today I just need to save up like $200.00 or so and get some good speakers. Why not take a moment to love each other? We are the Spring we are the Summer! Anyone else mess around with synths? God Bless +
Yup, it's in West Chester, PA not far from here at all. Unless the delivery truck blows up, I should be straight
Pretty much. Until I can afford a Minimoog or a Mellotron of course My wife got me an electric bass and amplifier which I have needed for awhile now. I got 2 classical guitars, and some musician friends with all different kinds of instruments and styles. Im thinking free jazz mixed with black moth super rainbow, a dash of lightning bolt, and a sprinkle of deerhoof. Maybe I'll just pour a vial of acid on the instruments and see what happens
Yea it should be here by 10am Id imagine. West Chester is only 30 miles from us and it left there at 6am. And yea your a very nice wife. I might even teach you how to play the Korg but only if you keep being nice
1600.00 like in 91? now I think they are 1/2 and the GR2 is now that price.. you can get away wit not getting the midi pickup but your cheating yourself if you dont use that 4 sur.. Ill bet you could get it used for like 400.00 which is a steal.. Gr1 and gr2 arnt much dif. some difference.. but not worth it imo. if you need to skimp and stuff. Thie isnt much of a skimp.. Still its housing isnt one to beat the shit out of... plastic.
Well I guess I was wrong. they are alot cheaper today.. but I did see the Gr20 was 450.00.. With pick up I thinks its 600? I might be wrong on what I paid too back then.. got a peavey212 and that .. cant remember what it all cost.. might have been more like 1200.00
Is the Gr1 synth, like the line 6 modeling stuff? or something different all together what kind of sounds come out? didnt boston use guitar synths?
If you do want to start one RELAYER, my roomate just brought home an electronic drumkit so we can have silent practices hahaha... now we just need to cut our hair like this...
Haha oh my God  But yea it just got here, now I have to wait until I get off work to test it out!
The GR-1 is over 10yrs old, but still has great sounds in it. I still prefer this model to the newer ones, because it has much deeper editing features, like a real synth, rather than just a 'rompler'. I think there are two things that make it stand out from the newer models, GR-30 and GR-33: ""The GR-1 has actual knobs"" on it that you can use in real time to change attack, decay, release, cutoff, resonance, and reverb\delay settings. It also has velocity switching between the two layers, which results in much more expressive patches. You can edit the sounds on the GR-1 like a real synth, including Cutoff and Resonance. The GR-30 and GR-33 only have a Brightness setting. Editing is very easy, it has an LCD readout and the manual is pretty well written. It also has a 4 track sequencer, which works, but can only hold one song, which limits its use.BLAHH. Also, unlike the newer models, the GR-1 can be used as a multi-timbral sound module. I've hooked up a keyboard controller to it before and it worked great. Polyphony is only 24 though. the Expanded model, which adds an additional 200 tones to the standard 200. The Expanded waveforms are of much better quality than the originals. The best sounds are strings, brass, winds, bells, synths and basses. Pianos and organs are so-so, and cannot compare to the newer model's samples. Some of the plucked instruments are usable, but why they put 'guitar' patches on ANY guitar synth, I'll never understand. You can just mix in the sound of your real guitar. It also has some drum sounds which are not bad. **effects are reverb, delay and chorus. Like any synth it needs to be run through a full range speaker system, preferably in stereo for the best sound quality.*** use regular pedals for this instead... The tracking? Well, not as good as the GR-30 or GR-33, but still perfectly usable if your GK-2A pickup is set up correct.. Dont know much about line 6, they have a studio patch I was looking at for the PC. but .. Idk. Pedals & effects make the guitar play itself.. sort of.
my friend has one of those, I've never heard it mind. I love the synth sounds on A sphere in the heart of silence by John Frusciante, Do you like Kraftwerk?
