Hey folks! Well i started tripping at the age of 16, about every 6 months. I started with 1 stamp, worked to 2, then did 3 a couple times. A friend approached me with some Blotters, which down here where im from a blotter has enough dosage to equal to 4 stamps.

I was planning a trip with my mother and girlfriend to go to Islands of Adventure (Orlando Themepark) and i decided i wanted to trip there. So i bought 2 blotters, which is more than double the dosage i had ever taken. Grateful Dead blotters to be exact but makes no difference. I had always experienced beautiful life-changing trips that changed my outlook on life. But this trip at the theme park, would end up beeing the worst and best day of my life.

Entering the park we had problems with my credit card and i was so angsty to trip i was getting annoyed. When we finally got through the gates i dropped them and made the line for The Hulk, a coaster that takes you from 0-60mph in 2 seconds and shoots you from a dark tunnel straight into the air. During the line (took about 30 minutes) i slowly came-up and felt the vibrations and visuals get crazier. The best moment in my life was the second the coaster shot me into the air and i went from dark tunnel straight into the beautiful florida sky, air blasting my face and the sun sparkling on my skin, while my body experienced orgasmic feelings from the twists and turns.

Right after the ride however, my trip took a turn for the worse. I dont remember exactly what it was, but it happened. I started falling into the abyss in my brain. And somehow i couldnt think this was all in my head like i usually do. It got to the point within 20 minutes that i was so far down into the shit that i felt like i was in the depths of hell. I walked around and noticed everyone around me with ugly faces, walking around sweaty and oblivious to the magical park we were in. My girlfriend who was sober, was telling me it was all in my head, but i was already convinced that i was in a bad trip and there was no way out but waiting for it to wear off. I rode the Harry Potter ride, and thats where i really noticed how all the hapiness around me had been sucked out of me and i was in a nightmare. The ride broke down mid-way which was icing on the cake.

A couple hours later i finally came down... and had to ride the Harry Potter ride again. I enjoyed it, but i was very sad that i had ruined my trip. I always thought i was an introvert and a dark person in general, but this trip really has changed me so to speak.

So, im wondering if i should trip again to fight this battle i have in my mind, and face my fears and overcome them. Tripping alone in my room was always beautiful, maybe it was just the large park full of people that ruined me.

    Thoughts, opinions?

My thoughts are, you had this experience in order to learn - thats why we experience anything. and you did nothing wrong by choosing this experience and really you didn't "ruin your trip" that's just a perception, take it as it is but it's nothing more. always face your fears, always. remember that if you have a fear of drowning, don't go out and drown to face the fear. go out and swim! learn how to swim! let your fears teach you things! also something to keep in mind, even though your mind may seem a battle ground, it can be a playground if you let it be. yeah thats about all i got, hope it speaks to you - as far as tripping again, if you feel the call - go for it, though be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to develop with this experience, no need to double stack experiences - for more info i refer you to here, though you probably have already seen haha http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=461948&f=117

My opinion is that a theme park is one of the worst places to be on LSD. It's a giant, cheap, ugly consumerist corporate thrill-for-a-buck geared at 10 year olds with rich parents, populated by overweight, cranky people, jaded employees, and security guards.

If you need a credit card to be there, it's probably not a good place to be on acid.

On LSD I've experienced myself traveling at the speed of light while my body remained motionless. Go run through a field and feel the entire ecosystem under you rushing past you and around you. Some big machine that quickly jerks my body to and fro might titilate me for a few seconds, at the cost of hours of annoyance to experience it.

That's a sign that it's not, that what you are feeling is somehow based in something true.

My only bad experience on MDMA was when I took it and tried to take a walk in a shopping mall. I couldn't believe how attuned I was to all the stressed out, frantic people, tired from work, annoyed with their kids, annoyed with the stores, everyone just so annoyed . . . so much bad energy, yet everyone absolutely COMPELLED to spend their time here, a cultural holy shrine of material worth. I experienced a pretty strong panic attack and it wasn't until I left the mall and went to a nearby forest that the rushing love overtook me again.

You are opening your heart mind and soul to one of the most awesome chemical forces in mankind's history, and you are doing this while waiting for a minimum wage high school kid to buckle you in quickly so the 12 year olds around you don't get too rowdy. What did you expect?

I think you got it. :) Respect yourself more and respect LSD more, it's not meant to be taken as a "highlighter" of your Disneyland day! The day you put Harry Potter above tantric ecstasy is the day you have a bad trip :D

I did mushrooms at our local fair a few years ago,, BAD idea. With all the not like minded people around me, and so many of them everywhere, I had a horrible trip!! I wouldn't do it in a public place like that again ever!

Writer is right for the most part, but really it comes down to your experience and how comfortable you are with the substance.

A friend and I both took mushrooms at theme park and had the best time of our lives. Opposite to what you said, I picked up on the giddiness of all the excited children, and carried a very happy vibe throughout the trip.

Things like overprice cotton candy, and french exchange students straping you into the ride were saw from another perspective and laughed at as "just one of the things on planet earth".

And I have to say there was similar coaster where you get blasted out of a tunnel, and the transition from dark to light and being high in the air looking down, absolutely breathtaking!!

I felt like it totally brought back that innocence of child feeling. Your trip I guess might have been a bad day or just wrong state of mind.

It is relative, if you have never tripped before do not waste your trip at the theme park or movies or something, you will go far deeper, learn far more, experience much richer reality, and come out with a much larger perspective on life if you trip at home or outside in nature.. But if you have tripped many of time and are comfortable with it and are daring individual, then the theme park can be a wonderfully brilliant experience.

It is a wonderful learning experience in itself. You learn about our culture, on the subconscious level. Patterns of people, placement of subliminal merchandising, social interaction, levels of intelligence, all sorts of social constructs. Just real interesting stuff!

In the long run always be safe and be smart when using psychedelics! Know somewhat of what your getting yourself into.

Thanks alot for the responses, Mr. Writer you definitely know what your talking about. For me and my experience with LSD dosage-wise and daring-wise a theme park just wasn't for me. Acid itself has to be the main attraction of whatever you decide to do, not just a highlighter of a roadtrip. But everyone is different and handles the substance differently.

Anyways, i defenitely will trip again to prove to myself a couple of things. Just in the comfort of my room and a music player, like the good old days.

My hardest most anguishing trips have always yielded the most fruit. :sunny:

LOL, I love being in a mall type environment on mild-moderate doses of psyches for all the reasons you mentioned above.

In it all I see how fucking grand and glorious this whole mess really is and just revel in the throng and raw humanity I am both witness and participant to.

Part of it also is I really don't view this current time/culture as any different or worse/better than any other.
Sure our toys and gadgets are sure nifty, but the human condition and experience has been and pretty much will be the same.
So my mind sees the moving mass of proprietors and patrons flow through history and one second I am seeing them in a Macedonian market square and the next the same players are haggling over the price of sausage in a filthy 1860's London back street, but all strung together by a common humanity.

That's where ya see God folks, in the masses.

It is just the magnificent play stretching throughout time that I am ever grateful to be both actor and audience.

    The Grand Parade

Don't get much better than that.

Just funny how different folks see different strokes.:afro:

"Did you ever get the feeling that the story's too damn real and in the present tense... or that everybody's on the stage and your the only person sitting in the audience?"

p.s., I do agree with all of the "Psychedelics 101" textbook info the ever wise Mr. Writer has once again so eloquently expounded.

    I think writer got it.

Also, I don't know what the hell you're talking about with stamps and blotters, blotter is a kind of paper, and usually "a blotter" would be one dosage unit. If the shit's being explained to you like that, ehh.... maybe you didn't even get real acid.

But wether or not it was real acid, the trip would have been the same. You took LSD and went to a fucking theme park......

Hello fellow brothers and sisters this is my first post to hip forums :p I thought it would be nice to start in ACID :)))))))))))

Well i think that you should be grateful to see the other face of the medallion. Bad trips teach you a lot but never never put yourself in a stupid situation... I get you you wanted to have different experience with taking acid in the theme park which might be fun but tripping around sober people in city i find not the best setting. Waiting in the line buying tickets bla bla can be really hard on acid while you are totally dissolved in acid you can feel stranger in the normal world but thats just a state of a mind and you should have thought about it before going to the park.Perhaps you should have taken the alice in the wonderland ride not harry potter ride ;) Will i be comfortable with the environment that im gonna trip? If not than dont TRIP there or trip with a really low dose. There is no battle needed man just find a safe environment where you are familiar and explore there i find nature is the best setting for acid. Dont rush the experience! when you feel its the right time take and enjoy the ride

I believe that LSD will never give you a bad trip without purpose. Tripping in a theme park with more than twice the dosage you've ever done was a bad idea. I think you were getting a little cocky with the substance and you had the bad experience to gain more respect for it. I think you have another great experience before you. Just play it safe, and only push your boundaries little by little. There's no reason you shouldn't do it again.
Acid, it'll turn you on or turn on you.

yeah, if you are gonna trip somewhere like an amusement park..i would take a lower dose than you might take at home to get really far out.

but i dunno what you mean by blotter vs stamp either. are you saying that a blotter is 4 stamps? are these things perforated?

Writer, do you like amusement parks while sober?

Yeah there's a great one near me called Canada's Wonderland, it's got some top quality roller coasters. I go once a year or so, they have an awesome halloween show.
