What do you guys think about people who can read other people's mind, look into the "future", and shit like that. I've seen this kind of shit first hand and am just curious what you acid heads think about it.
Mind Readers really isn't broad enough, extrasensory perception would be more appropriate I think. (off topic) For future reference, is there any way to modify the title of your thread or just delete it all together? Few things to consider, would the whole idea of "looking into the future" suggest that life is predestined? I always have thought of life having a universal plan, but at the same time believed that the individual egos have the ability to do whatever they want at any given moment, which can in turn effect the macrocosm with all of thought, feeling, and action. So which is it, are we running the show, or is it predestined, and why? I think reading other people's thoughts is more obvious, we are all one, so at higher levels of perception thought energy becomes universal. However, how the hell do you reach such stages of perception? Is it a birth right, like the avatar notion, achieved, or both, and why? Obviously none of the talk about this stuff are going to be truths(at least not that I know of), just mental masturbation. I've honestly been able to read vibes / voices / and eyes pretty well my whole life. Basically understanding people through their tone of voice and body language, and almost as if I can see their intentions through their eyes. Never concrete "mind reading", however a friend of mine did reply to a question I asked in my head before, and that's happened in vise/versa. It was pretty cool lol, though things like that have always seemed to of happened at random though, never at will in my limited experience. Seems to personally prove the notion of connectedness in my life
The human mind is so inhibited by itself that we rarely flash the light of truth on these subjects. Is it really telepathy, or is it just instinctive communication through the 80% of communication we do through our bodies combined with hormones and an extra sharp mind? Foreseeing the future shouldn't be that difficult, in the grand, grand scheme of things. I use shouldn't, because I'm assuming time is akin to a chemical reaction between space and energy, like matter. If that's the case, then looking at a specific set of reactants and the product it made, and apply that to make formulae. But...at best that would be like scientists using numbers to track comets. They can't break down every variable, and maybe never will, and so it's at best a less-likely-to-be-wrong-guess, and applied across the board, means that predicting the future will just be predicting a possible future, because...knowledge of the future would change it, which removes the possibility of concrete formulae, as self-awareness is a factor. Edit: I'm spewing all of this off of my head, it's not fact or even mostly solid theory. Keep that in mind. All of this is IMO.
I have had experiences, especially on acid, where it seems one or more people are communicating complex thoughts non-verbally. Body language seems to be much easier to read while tripping. Also ive found it possible to listen and watch someone while they are talking and pick up on there train of thought and "ride it" if you will. Ive become quite good at doing it sober now. Psychedelics definitely break down some barriers we may have with communication. Though at times it can make those barriers worse. Just a thought
word man. it really isn't that hard to read someone based on their body language, or based on how they are acting. especially since my lsd use i have just had all of my perceptions heightened and my thought patterns exhibit a more logical and efficient route. when you take in a certain set of factors then you can definitely tell where they might end up. one thing i find amazing though is that rather than thinking in logical terms, somewhat since my lsd use i think more in sets of logic. this is espeically prevalent in music and mathematics. like rather than thinking in one flowing thought root i kind of just slap 5 different thought circles on there and watch things resolve themselves. if that makes any sense at all, and doesn't make me sound crazy, LOL. but on to the extra-perceptional... i mean it really depends on the person. i have found that it is more of a thing that you either have or you don't have. i don't think it necessarily has anything to do with lsd either, but psychedelics can definitely help you tap into your full potential. but how much potential you have is more of a different thing from soul to soul. i mean ever since i was a kid, and for as long as i can remember, i have been plagued by the otherwordly. seeing ghosts, spirits, demons, etc. also things like this tend to spike alot during peak moments of importance. for example meeting a lover, having a near-death experience, or really any kind of intense experience or danger that might befall you. for example one time i nearly passed out at a concert. had i not gotten out of the crowd when i did i probably would have passed out if not died from dehydration. but before it happened i was able to view time as a set of events, rather than a single moment. which helped me realise that i needed to get the fuck out of there. i had foresight for the events that happened that night. it was like living a lucid dream. there are some people though that just have insane energies and auras about them. i can usually tell these people apart from others, and they tend to be attracted to me as well. i mean i don't know if they really sense things to the extent that i do, but they can definitely tell something is up. these kinds of people always have a massive impact on my life, as i do on theirs. the energy transfer sometimes is just insane. but i mean as to whether things are predestined or not i'm not really sure. it's a really complex issue. ill try to make a post about that later, but this one is already long enough.
It's not psychic ability. It's synchronicity. You get on the same flow of energy as other people. The person who can cognize and english that flow of energy in the group is the one who typically would be labelled 'psychic'. But it's not psychic, it's synchronicity. I believe there was a point in human history where humans were highly highly psychic. Or rather, highly aware of the collective flow, the collective synchronicity to reality. And through this, were so in tune with one another, that they barely had to communicate. They could just sense the needs and intentions of the world around them very accurately. Much like animals do, but being humans, it would be more complex. But somewhere along humanities development, groups of people discovered the ability to psychically attack people. They found that simply sending out mass amounts of negative energy was just as effective on highly psychically open people as actual physical fighting. And after enough time spent with psychic attacks going back and forth. The psychic intuition of humanity was largely shut down and replaced with metaphorical languages.
i was readin a book called The Yoga of Time Travel (lol hear me out) and it was talking about time as a non-linear thing...and of memory as working in more directions than just backwards. kinda saying you can "remember" the future...kinda cool : )

i think that things are fairly predestined and attuned to fate. but our reactions to our fates are what we have control over. to a certain extent we can make our own fates, even though we are essentially still restricted by the act of creation and definition. so even though we might be presented with a choice, things are still ultimatly contained within a system providing the choice. being part of the system, we do not have control over. how we navigate it, we do. ever remember the old stories of ancient greeks visiting the oracle -- was it the oracle at delphai? anyway, the oracle would provide them with their fate. resisting against this fate, and what the oracle predicted, ultimatly led to their doom and the culmination of the very fate which they fought to not receive. however those that accepted their fate were able to lead a more meaningful life in other aspects of their existence, and were sometimes even spared of a more gruesome fate by divine favor. paradoxically, it is the surrender to our fate that leads to our mastery of it.
This response is not theoretical, but based upon experience that supports the idea that psychedelics open channels that aren't typically available to all of us. Years ago I had a girlfriend who could impress with here "psychic" abilities. She would occasionally know what was about to happen or exactly what another was thinking. Perhaps a year or two after our parting, I was enjoying an acid/weed fueled evening; lying in my bed, listening to the dead. My visions intensified and I felt an energy that was building. That energy increased to a point that I thought could not be surpassed. Just as that peak arrived, my telephone rang. Ordinarily I would never respond to anything as banal as a phone call while tripping, but I knew (though we'd not spoken in months) that it would be her- and it was. O don't know if she was responding to anything I was (subconsciously) transmitting or if I was attuned to her intention, but the result is the same. Needless to say, in that state, my mind was blown.
The oracles were used to control the masses through superstition. They were hardly pure. I feel defensive to your statement about accepting your fate, probably because it smacks of living on your knees.
