I have short hair, like really short butchy hair XP.

It's gone threw my mind a few times about getting dreads, and I think once my hair is long enough I'm going to do it.

What it the minimum length for dreads?

Also, any general tips on getting them started would be great. After Oct.31 I'm trying to start a new lifestyle, more natural and such. So any good products or stuff?

    Blessed Be

    Miranda.

    Start Now.

    Just stop brushing...
    play with your hair...

it will take years to become long dreadlocks,
    but they will form...

    patience is the lesson here.
    not vanity.

    godspeed

I am so far from vain. I want them to represent the start of my new life. I can be lazy but if I had something to look at each day as a reminder I could do it.

After Oct is when I plan to start.

wash the scalp without running fingers through hair rince it through the hair
u can play with it absenrtmindedly
as it starts to seperate into sections pull 1 section away from another so the hairs trying to combine them break so u dont end up with 1 massive dread

How often do I wash the scalp?

Oh, and when I go to work will they be fine if I wear a net. I don't think my boss will approve of my new hair, so once I can't hide it under my hat I may by a wig.

Unforntaly this is the way I will have to work cuz most people frown on dreads. :( and I need this job.

I work at Little Caesars, usually on till so people see me. I should be fine for the first while, my hat will hide it. I'm just hoping wearing a hair net won't hurt them.
