Hey guys...more quotes...i just kinda wanted to bring God back to the Christianity section seeng as its been focusing on Islam and war and stuff... Matt 6:27 " You cannot add time to your life by worrying about it." Matt 6 :34 "So don't worry about tommorow, because tommorow will have its own worries. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matt 5 :11-12 " People will insult you and hurt you. They will lie and say all kinds of evil things about you because you follow me. But when they do, you will be happy. Rejoice and be glad, because YOU have a GREAT REWARD waiting for you in Heaven. People did the same evil things to the prophets that lived before you. " 2 corinthians 1 : 21-23 " Remember, God is the one who makes you and us strong in christ. God made us his chosen people. He put his mark on us to show that we are his, and he put his spirit in our hearts to be a guarantee for all he has promised." Okay, well there you go... any comments or additions welcome. Roly.xxx
romans 13:1 "Every person is to be in subjection to the governning authorities. For there is no authority except from Gpd, and those which exist are exist are estblished by God." even thought i don't agree with what paul said that much from what ive read, this one has always stod out to me for some reason..
"Judge not, lest ye be judged." "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man may lay down his life for his friends." "Love thine enemies." "You can tell a tree by its fruit." "...that whosoever believeth in Him should not PERISH....." "....and the word was God, and God was the word." "....and the word was Brahman, and Brahman was the word." Who is this person? Jesus? Jacques DeMolay? Leonardo Da Vinci? I am curious to know what more I can about it.
the stigmata are in the right scientific places on the wrists to support Him on the cross Matt. 11:9 "But what dd you go out and see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and one who is more than a prophet"
After careful analysis of both the frontal and back images, there are also holes in the feet, a wound in the side, lacerations on the forehead, and scourging marks on the back. Middle eastern pollen has been found in the fibres, but it was c14 dated to the 13 or 14 hundreds. It has been almost destroyed by fire which could cause the date to be skewed. Some see a resemblance to early depictions of Christ. There is a crease just below the chin, so it spent a long time folded so that the face was all one would see. Others say it resembles Da Vinci, and that he is a good guess as to who could make it. It is an amazing image, looking as though it was a photographic process that was used. Others say DeMolay was tortured by the Inquisitors in as similar a way as they could do to copy the crucifixion. The wrist holes tend to make this claim less solid, as most people at the time did not know about the wrists, and painted holes in the hands.
*sees only one quote actually about g-d in the thread meant to bring g-d back to christianity section* Lev 18:4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I [am] the LORD your G-d.
Thank you, ephiphany On a seperate note... I challenge each and everyone of you (in a non threatening way) to see Gods relevance in your life, to read the Bible and see how it can be real in your life. Roly.xxx
i do all the time, adnit builds me up stronger and stronger its gr8! we all hav2 be careful of not getting out of focus n stuff, reading the bible and taking a chance to reflect on what god ahs done in our lives and just worship him for simply who he is alowes us to become stronger spiritually.
Amen to that!!! yeh its really humbling...i have a thing about being humble...i haven't been recently...sometimes its good to feel vulnerable and in awe of God....yaya! Roly.xxx
I also have read the Bible, three different versions of it, and it is still a source of reference and I still learn things from it. I am a big fan of humble people. Modesty is a very spiritual quality in my view, while vanity, to my ears, sounds stupid and is unattractive to me. I am in awe, and also thank you for your quotes. Ken
Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Thank you!! thank you too for your inputs very cool that u all keep replying!!! I hope this thread really grows along with us...that we can add to it.... Thank you lucy in the sky as well!!!! Roly.xxx
yeah i liek this thread it cool! a humble spirit is good, because ppl who are proud are stubborn. and stubborn ppl are hard to teach the truth to,theyre hearts are hard to the things god wants to do in theyre lives. humble ppl are very teachable and open to gods truth..
I too enjoy the input of all of you. The quotes are great. I like the way that His words apply throughout time, to all people, and are so valuable for living in harmony. Proverbs 10: 12 Hatred stirs up strife. But love covers all transgressions.
