Ok, my friend is telling me really weird times. When is the most likely time to get pregnant? Seriously.. Cos two people are telling me two different things.

Sorry if this was a previous thread, but I couldn't find a similar (and i'm on 14.4k connection tonight!!)

That's because everybody's body is different. If you got 5 girls together you'll probably get 5 different answers.

I've heard the classic "3 days before and 3 days after" the menstral cycle. But, that is heresay I'm sure.

If you have a more regular cycle, you will ovulate around 14 days after the first day of your menstrual period. This will be your most fertile time. You have a very limited "window of opportunity" for conception, which is amazing that so many women get pregnant considering there is a very small time frame in which you can conceive. Most women will feel more frisky than usual during their most fertile days, which can result in more reckless behavior. ;)

Actually, you ovulate 14 days before your period, not after. If you have a 28 day cycle, this is day 14. If it's 35, day 21. You're considered fertile for about 3 days before ovulation, ovulation day itself, and a few days afterwards. So yes-you're most fertile during that one week. It is NOT impossible, however, to not get pregnant during the rest of your cycle, especially if your periods are irregular-but it is highly unlikely.

Um, if your cycle is 28 days, it runs both ways, it's 14 days before your period and 14 days after, over and over again. ;) Although, not everyone is as predictable.

Trust me, I've had three children and have quite a bit of knowledge on the whole most fertile times from all of the keeping track of my cycles! ;)

this is correct... every woman ovulates 14 days before the first day of her period... no matter when your period comes. if you're irregular then you can't be totally sure when that two weeks before your period is, because you're not sure when your period is, so yeah.. oh and usually the constency of your discharge is a lot more lube-like, almost like egg-whites in most cases and you're generally going to be more horny then as well... so yeah, the best time for your body to have sex is the best time to get pregnant.
