Have you completely lost sight of what this argument was about?

I've never said anything about Guns N Roses or hair metal being the kings of the 90s.
I said that Guns N Roses is what killed hair metal.

 Gotta say that answer is pretty solid, I think my whole view on the issue has shifted. I thought the hedonistic messages on Appetite for Destruction were scattered throughout 80's metal and a double album released separately filled with sprawling epics seemed to exemplify the excess of 80's metal to me.

    This is an epiphany!

I've left this argument, if you haven't noticed.

I prefer when a person takes the time to comprehend and rebut my points, instead of belittling points I never even made.

That's often said of their first CD, but more of their most popular songs are on Use Your Illusion I and II.

Part of the argument depends on if you consider "good" as a whole album/cd being quality or it having some great songs. But it's pretty debatable that Use Your Illusion (II especially) are better than Welcome to the Jungle.

EDIT: AHAHAHAH I just stumbled upon this ridiculously related article about Nirvana killing hair metal being a myth It doesn't give nearly as much credit to Guns N Roses, as I did of course. But I'm just glad it didn't give it to Nirvana =P

EDIT2: not bothering to change my slip of tongue, to show just how petty of a debater guerilla is ;)

I very much agree; but it's one of the best empirical measures -- especially over the test of time.

Anyone that truly thinks of Stairway to Heaven as the greatest rock song ever is a complete tool; but how much it ends up on such polls, shows it must have some quality.
What kinda quality is more arguable, but then we'd have to get to specific songs.... I doubt we really wanna go down that path, but if either of yins do, I nominate this as our first song to debate:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlzptZ9wieQ"]YouTube - Guns N' Roses - You could be mine

If we need to pull out polls for measure, 'Welcome to the Jungle' was chosen as #1 on Vh1 greatest hard rock songs ever recently.

    Welcome to the Jungle
    Pardise City
    Sweet Child of Mine

That is Guns n Roses main legacy right there and all are on Appetite for Destruction. Those songs are the Gnr songs you'll hear played at parties, bars, sporting events. If 'Don't Cry' happened to chart higher whatever, I guarantee you fewer people would know that song or attribute it to Guns n Roses style.

I know I am dense at times but goddamn duck you are really dense or just like to argue.

What about Knockin on Heavens Door, Live and Let Die, and November Rain (which you've already showed you distaste for, but remains popular and highly regarded). All of these songs get lots've classic rock radio play and remain popular.

Once again, we seem to be arguing different things.
I said more of their most popular songs are on the Use Your Illusion; you're saying that their most popular are all on Appetite for Destruction.
But, I am going to have to concede on this point anyways, cause it's turned out to be a tie. =P

But I think this still stands as an argument for the earlier point, that they don't just have one good CD :)

A tie hahaha! At least you're mildly funny.

Yah their other good cd is called Lies.:p I remember like in the late 90's, maybe early 00's they did a repackage of Use your illusion as 1 disc with a bunch of songs taken off. Its really not that good of an album(s) IMO.

I like Civil War, Yesterdays and the song you posted alot.

Live and Let Die and Knockin on Heavens door are covers which are not as good as the originals and the rest is just kind of subpar music.

    Appetite for destruction:
    Welcome to the jungle
    Nightttain
    mr. Brownstone
    Paradise City
    My Michelle
    Anything Goes
    Sweet Child of mine
    Rocket queen

Appetite is loaded with good songs.
