Depends on where ya go do some research. check out chambers of commerce and demographics of the area you are interested in. California is huge and there are many safe places to live good luck

If you have to ask if it is safe, you're probably not ready to live there. Though to help clarify: Are you afraid of homeless people? Than a lot of it isn't safe. Are you afraid of gangs? Than a lot of it is not safe. Are you afraid of paying twice the amount you are used to paying.. for everything? Than your bank account is not safe. Are you afraid of Santa Anas? Than So Cal is not safe. Are you afraid of Paris Hilton-like girls? Than So Cal is not safe. Are you afraid of hipsters or hippies? Than the bay area (specifically parts of SF and Berkeley) is not safe. etc. etc. etc.

 

It's always a good idea to move to a state that is bankrupt.
