hello, i am getting married next year, and we've found a DJ who will only play exactly what we want. we have started compiling a list of songs WE LIKE to be played....but people like to dance at weddings. please post suggestions as to what songs we can play that people will enjoy dancing to? thanks in advance. peace. LP
well..in my opinion i think the classic disco songs are not only good, but they kinda apply to the event...... dancing queen we are family etc.... i also think some old school michael jackson would be kewl.. my friend is getting married and we learned the thriller dance so we can bust out some coereography at her reception.....
thanks Rar1013....any one else? please?? some 70s disco will be great, but i need to fill 4 hours! i refuse to have the DJ play the standard dance crap. i went to an affair like that a few weeks ago and the music was just awful. thanks. peace
Not sure how useful these might be to you, but they seemed appropriate to me....... Woman - Anti Nowhere League She's Crafty - Beastie Boys Hands Off...She's Mine - The Beat Don't Marry Her - The Beautiful South White Wedding - Billy Idol Ever Fallen In Love - The Buzzcocks Devil Woman - Cliff Richard Love Song - The Damned She Loves Me - Descendents Love Her Madly - The Doors Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced - Dropkick Murphys Happy Together - The Jam No Greater Love - New Model Army Me & My Old Lady - The Offspring Every Time I See Her - Peter & The Test Tube Babies Fairytale Of New York - The Pogues Love Everybody - Presidents of the United States of America (This Is Not A) Love Song - Public Image Limited Control - Puddle Of Mudd She's The One - Ramones Me & You Vs The World - Space Take Me, I'm Yours - Squeeze Screamager - Therapy? Fell In Love With A Girl - The White Stripes
i bet you meant this to be funny. there WILL be slayer at my wedding....it's bf's favorite band! feral, that is a kick ass list....buzzcocks, PUSA, ramones....and some of those others are already on my list! dncodrix, you are gutsy to do that! i would be afraid of them playing all house music and bumpy grind shit...which is exactly what i'm trying to avoid. but then, i have a dj. i think a band is very different. thanks all for your input. our list grows. more suggestions will be most appreciated. over a year till the wedding still. peace.
Only another suggestion. There are two: 1. John Denver's "A Song for all lovers" 2. or the more obvious Peter Paul and Mary's "The wedding song (There Is Love)" Trust me. My wife of 20 years this June, still slow dance to both.
No problem, hope everyone likes them... Here's a few more too.... You Got Good Taste - The Cramps Fire Woman - The Cult The Lovecats - The Cure Pharmacist's Daughter - NOFX Place Your Hands -Reef Barbed Wire Love - Stiff Little Fingers I Wanna Be Your Dog - The Stooges DJ, DJ - Transplants Stranglehold - UK Subs
