anything classical... beethoven, hindemith, mozart, maria von weber, tchaikovsky... it's very soothing music and i'm sure it will help you out.

Its been proven that listening to Mozart actually raises your IQ a few points while hearing it, great for improving comprehension of tougher studies.

I find that instrumentals are better for me than anything with lyrics, too distracting!

You might want to try some ambient music as well.

The only music I can concentrate with is Pink Floyd's first cd, everything else I get distracted by and sing along with.

ive always found classical music to be very distracting, because i end up listening very intently to the complexity and cleverness of it all, and in fact sometimes get a headache from it. i cant just have music like that passively in the background. infact music is too distracting.

I hate when I'm trying to write a paper or study, and I can't listen to music because it distracts me. If I want to listen to some music, I'll put in some video game themes. The funny thing is, even though they have no lyrics, I end up singing/humming along with 'em anyway...haha. I also like listening to Liquid Tension Experiment or Planet X (both being instrumental bands). Then again...I end up singing along to them also. I guess I can't win...haha. Ah, music is life...:)

I listen to the Dead a lot while intently working. Music by Claude DeBussy or Jaques Offenbach is also good if you want something without lyrics. That is, If you like romanticism and impressionism.
