I came to a revelation the other night;I am a music nerd.
I came to this conclusion when I went and saw spiderman 2 and was more excited at the credits to hear one of my favorite songs (Vindicated by Dashboard Confessional) Then I hadb een to see the show (which by the way was good considering I hated the first)

Just looking for comfort in the fact that I may not be the only person out there with this infactuation for music....If you have any idea at all what im talkign about please post! I dont wanna be the only music nerd! LOL.

plenty of us out there. I'm a classical and jazz nerd, but I'm not nearly nerdy enough about the other sorts of music I'm into.

I'm DEFINATELY a music nerd. Does anyone else figure out 7/8 polyrhythms that go along with some straight 4/4 beeping noise while waiting in line to pay for a CD?

    Because I do.....

Plus I figure out the rhythm that the cracks in the sidewalk make and then try to match them up with the splits in the curb.....

Yeah, I guess I'm a music nerd. If you call "buying four copies of some albums just because you want them" nerdy, then yes, I'm a music nerd. :p

Well, I guess nothing's *wrong* with them, but why listen to them when you could listen to The Velvet Underground, Syd Barrett, The Who, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Ravi Shankar, The Yardbirds, The Doors, and TONS of other bands that are, well, better than Dashboard Confessional? However, that's just my taste in music. Listen to whatever feels good, just don't limit yourself to modern punk... or any one genre for that matter.

Defineatly..im rather eclectic, I listen to all types. I hate the whole genre thing..it limits too many people..I especially think with people my age..afraid to go out on a limb and be a different from all the nickelback and *gags* Britney spears (no offense anyone) types out there...

I'm a country and oldies buff. It's sad when you sing songs and people are like "did you write that song?"

Lol really? I never classified them as modern pop punk or anything..more alternative I woulda had to say..and I never realized that that many people listenned to them lol..well, at least no one in my town. *shrugs* what ive heard from them, I like...but like I previously stated, I dont limit myself to that. it was just an example.

Well, I think Dashboard Confessional is what you get when you severly wimpify punk / emo.

Well, I don't listen to them, but I think a good number of people I go to school with do.

Oh yeah, I know. I wasn't saying that's all that you listen to or anything. I'm sorry if that's how I sounded. :&
