My 3000$ Stereo..

Isnt loud...

wtf..seriously i'm really hoping it's just cause the output of my laptop is just not enough, but my speakers finally arrived today, yesterday i finished building my sub, and today I hooked it all up and played music off my laptop and for the output i was sending through the receiver it didnt thrill me

hopefully once i get my PS3 setup and play music through that i will be louder..but i'm scared it wont

 

Try it w/ a dvd/cd/video player and test it out. That will tell you if they are loud or not.

 

lol i'm just an idiot and a noob when it comes to home theatre stuff.. i didnt realize there were POSATIVE decible volumes hahah :S

I don't think you should be in the positive... that's usually pretty loud. It's probably just the output of your laptop as you stated. I was actually just thinking about this the other day when I hooked up my laptop to my Bose system which usually sounds pretty consistent. I noticed that certain frequencies would raise or lower inversely with others, as if there was a summative level cap, as well as the fact I was turning the volume up much higher than I was used to. I then played a cd from the player and it sounded much louder, clearer, and leveled.

 

haha nice. I was going to ask why i didnt sound good. Guess you just have to hook it up right. I have a nice system, just in my car...

 

Its the output. My car system blares cd's but my MP3 player sounds way to week. It's lame because I don't have many CD and use my MP3 player for most stuff.

 

Yeah that happens to me too. I found w/ ipods that using rockbox can increase the quality and volume levels.

im very jealous.. i'm in res right now, so i can't play my mediocre speakers that loud... and i don't have 3000 for speakers, someday hopefully.

 

why would you drop 3000 on speakers

in the home theatre world these are fairly low end components, but WAYYY better than that home theatre in a box crap you buy at the big box stores

Man home theatre is the shit, because you can really enjoy it more than a car system. Sit there chillin with some friends, some beer, buds, and good music or movies.
