My cat Kung has ran away and all my friends are cat hating bastards so I can't whine to them about it, they'll think it's a good thing. I was going to take her to the vet cos she had a V stiff leg and was in pain, when I went to get my cat carrier she buggered off out a window and that was 6 days ago. she's a real scardy cat and doesn't get on with people so I can't even hope she's found a place to stay she's probably just stuck outdoors in the shitty rain we've had for the last couple of weeks. I keep thinking that she's either miserable and suffering or dead. I'm just posting this here to get it off my chest.
I am so very sorry to hear this. Pets can be as important as close friends. Having one missing can really hurt. Please know that my thoughts are with you during this tough time in your life.
Well, I guess self-creating gets totally new meaning now..... And, groovydude, I so understand what you're going through right now, when my parrot ran away 2 years ago I was desperate, we had crazy luck to find him couple of hours after because he landed on our neighbour's balcony, but I will never forget those 2 hours thinking how he's lost forever.... You should probably have looked for your cat right away, now you can ask your neighbours or go to animal shelters and check if anyone saw it....
That cat is not yours. You do not own any cat. That cat is its own, and if that cat decided to leave you, then more power to it.
Thanks Sanja Serbia, I've always let Kung roam about all she wanted mostly cos my place is so small. She should know her way about by now after 3 years of coming and going this is the only time that she's been gone for more than 3 hours and my place seems empty, odd cos it's not like she brought alot of stuff with her and at night she would attack my feet mercilessly and it drove me nuts. now my non threatened feet remind me she's not there and it stops me sleeping cos it seems wrong!
Pretty good answer! Seriously though...to the OP...my parents had a cat. She would stay out 2-3 days at a time. Once she was gone for two weeks and we had given up on her. When she finally came drag assing back she looked like she'd been swallowed and spit back out of a combine. She layed down under the shrub next to the front door and slept for three days solid. When she woke up she ate food like she'd never see it again and was back to her old self. I guess my point is...don't give up hope. Cats are funny that way.
I just saw a picture of you and Kung, you look sooo beautiful together, like two best buddies!... And, yes, I agree with Biggen, don't give up trying to find her, she may find her way home, maybe she went after her boyfriend or something, but just in case hang "missing cat" posters around the neighborhood.... Good luck
aw, i so so sorry. that's so sad.i lost one of my cats, sydney, when i was pregnant with kai. he was my sweet buddy. sucha beautiful cat, such a love, and so funny. i still miss him. hopefully someone stole him, instead of him ending up dead. i can't stand the thought of him being alone and scared. much better to think of him as pampered and pet and brushed daily, just like he loved. preferably witha deaf person, because he was such a talker.
So sorry about your kitty ! I am still mourning the loss of our kitty of 10 years. It just seemed like he was always there being his sweet self, until one day he wasn't. I know he got eaten by a coyote that I saw hanging around our place for months. I always thought he could outrun the coyote, but one day I guess he didn't. I don't have any illusions that he is anywhere else, but I wish I did, it would be much easier to think about. I am at the point of being able to make kitty stew jokes or Chinese restaurant jokes (8 months), but it took quite a while to get to that point, and maybe people should be a little more loving and thoughtful before looking for a quick laugh. Love for any lost friend or companion can be a intense emotional experience. Hope kitty returns, and if not that you are .........OK!
Look under any cars in the nearby area. Cats usually don't tend to go very far when they run away and they tend to get scared and hide.
