I am planning on having kids. I want to use my children's birth charts to help them along the path of life. I don't know if my wife is with me on this 100%. I think it might be that she does not have the same strong interest in astrology as I do. I don't plan on basing everything I say and do for my children on astrology. I just want to know what they come into the world to do. I will use my eyes and common sense for sure, but I do think astrology is a great tool. I just hope I don't hurt my kids by getting to intrusive in their lives using astrology, instead of just enjoying each moment with them in growth and love and laughter. It's tough.
When you're too close to someone, it can be hard. When I first started astrology, I did a bunch of charts for family. My niece has a daughter, and when I did my (great?) niece's chart, I saw that she would have a sister from another mother. I didn't say anything to my niece at the time because I was too unsure of myself. So a few months ago, my niece and her husband divorced, so at least what I saw is starting to make sense. If my niece was a client, I probably would have handled it differently, but I really was scared of hurting a family member so I held back. Same thing with my brother. I saw a divorce coming (profected ruler of the year angular and retrograde in solar return, and solar return chart shows Saturn, who is in the natal 7th, cadent and peregrine, and Mars in SR 7th), but I didn't say anything for the same reason as above. Now he's getting a divorce. It's tough for family because you always want the best, and when it's not there, you tend to want to ignore it. Good things are easy to vocalize.
You didn't read my post huh? It's funny in traditional texts - almost all of them up until the 19th century or so, talk about transits, but mention that they are too weak to show anything substantial. I mentioned I used profections as well, though I didn't mention Firdaria, but I use those too. Progressions just don't seem to pan out consistently. Again they were never used until recently. Astrologers knew about them, but they rarely used them. I'm learning primary directions now. That should get interesting. I think they fell into disuse because they required too much math. I'm figuring out a few tricks though. Oh and... I did it without transits and progressions.
I commented on Trekker's post and spoke about dealing with family members with astrology. Instead you wanted to criticize traditional predictive techniques. Why are you so argumentative? Speaking of hijacking: On the "Anyone a Pisces?" thread:
