ok, for the 12 years that our family has lived in our current house. During that time i have chabged the position of my bed as many ways as i possibly could, because i just cant be content in my room. my sleep is worse in my room than anywhere else, but i cant change coz there arnt any more spare rooms. i have recently taken my guitar and amp ionto my room, before they were downstairs. there is soo much static buzz that i cant play atall in my room because its so bad. this never happened downstaris. i thought it could be a non earthed socket, so i connected everything through different sockets in different rooms and it still happened. so i play the guitar in my room, and leave the amp outside my room. still buzzing. so i play my guitar outside my room and keep the amp there. NO DAMN BUZZING!!! my room has some real weird magnetic field in it. even without any transformers, lights or electrical equipment on. my room is the only room that does this, and it gets on my tits! maybe my lack of comfort, and the static buzz are related in some way. i dont know why i posted this, but arrrgghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you have fluorescent lights in the room? Amps and guitar pickups can get interference buzz from them. Can also be caused by anything with electric motors. Power tools can cause this from hundreds of feet away. It usually isn't the wiring, usually is something generating a frequency that your guitar is picking up.
kool, well we have no flourescent or power tools going, bu7t we have just had spot lights put in our kitchen- below me, so the amp would be about 2 feet above them. and they are on dimmers, and i heard that dimmers can cause buzz. cheers
single coil actives. i tried the lights, and my dad thought it could be their transformer. it seemed to work quite well. but its so weird how our bodies are constantly subjected to these frequencies all day long
I dont like to change things in my room...... In fact if we ever moved back into the house we lived in DURIN THE 80sm,I would put my room was how it was then!! I remember how/where everything was in my room
