My Encounter with a Strange Creature

This happened in Michigan, about 45 minutes north west of Detroit, about 2 winters ago. I was visiting family about a month before Christmas, and had a family friend who needed to be picked up from the Detroit Metro Airport, as me and a friend were driving down a isolated, icy,lightly drifting snowy road, we came up a hill going about 15 miles an hour (we werent in a hurry and left 2 hours early so we could pace ourselves against the michigan weather) as we were coming down the hill in the middle of the boondocks, we see this creature crawling across the road...... it was jet black, bigger then a wolf, smaller then a bear, it was about the same size as a bengal tiger,as it crawled across the road, my friend stopped the car, as this creature slowly made its way across the road, not even looking at us untill half its body was out of the headlights, at that moment it turned towards us, and its eyes had red eye shine... at that moment as it stared at us i stated "what the fuck is that?" my friend took his foot off the break and we slowly rolled down the hill as we passed it. We didnt have a camera, but the thing would have let us take pictures, and they would have been perfect. It looked like a giant Wolf like dog creature... as we rolled away, i thought about getting out and examining it closer, but my instincts told me that would be my last time ever stepping out onto the snow.. we sat silently for a few minutes after that, kind of asking one another over and over again if we had both seen what we had seen to kind of verify with our minds, that it wasnt a dream, and yes, it had really happened..... after we returned to my familys home, we had told them what we had saw... no one believed us, they thought we were joking around... about 2 or 3 weeks later, in a small local newspaper that was around my fams area, i had came up to visit from Detroit. I had grabbed the paper laying on the kitchen island, and there it was on front. Mysterious Black Cat sightings in the area... So, there were numerous reportings and sightings of what people thought was a black panther.. Now keep in mind this area was a richer area, country, but not farm like country, more like rich people have huge houses built out here country... a rich person involved in the community isnt going to say they didnt know what it was, but they will say they saw a panther, it makes more sense to them... but it wasnt a panther, i know that much, if it was a panther, then i must have taken a strip of paper before i went on that trip.. its back was too muscular, too hunched, it wasnt even shaped like a panther..... i got ahold of the DNR, and they never responded back to me, it looked more like a giant wolf then anything else. a wolf the size of a tiger... I posted up my sighting on another sight, and this researcher got ahold of me, i told him my story and he never responded back... i told him i would take a lie detector to hold truth to my story, no response.... I was doing research on strange creatures, about 3 or 4 months ago, and came across the michigan dog man... I dont like to assume, especially when it comes to creatures of the unknown (we find new species every day... just think, when your on the highway, looking at the horizon, how many people do you think have ventured in those woods often?? not many.... the dogman fits more of the description to the beast i saw, and Red Eyeshine?? i looked that up, and from what i know, only owls (from what i know at least, if i am wrong correct me) have red eye shine... it was strange, but i was happy i got a chance to glimpse at something so up close, (about 30 feet away) for only a short amount of time, but i did see it, alot of people dont get that chance.. and it was so, unexpected, we werent even thinking about running into such a strange thing... it was very odd..

yeah, well i had a phone at the time, Metro Pcs to be exact, but i had the bottom barrell one, without a camera.. i wish i did have it, ive lived in michigan all my life and have never heard of the dogman, neither do i know if thats what i saw, but i know with all my soul, it was some strange beast, it didnt act like a normal animal would act... the eyes is what worrys me the most.. almost like it knew me when it looked at me, it even waited till it got out of the LIGHTS TO LOOK AT US!! what animal does that? a deer will look into the lights, almost all animals will look at you and get blinded by the lights, but this one, waited until it was out of the light to look at me and get a better idea of who we were... it still freaks me out.. i have a camera on me at all times now...

It's actually Final Fantasy VI, although it WAS released in the U.S. on the Super Nintendo as Final Fantasy III, but that was due to the fact that it was only the 3rd game in the series to be released here, so they numbered it accordingly.
So, American FFIII = FFVI

Yeah that's the one. The beginning where they are walking through the snowy night and Terra's theme starts playing always tears me up what can I even say.
I'm from the States.
The 3rd game was the one we are talking about. The 4th one we got was FFVII. But this was back in the day when the U.S. hardly ever got localized games. Nowadays all of them have been translated and released over here.

Crazy... I had a weird experience a few years ago driving home not too late at night on the A.C. expressway or GSP, can't remember now. It was dark, but clear and without much traffic. I was doing probably 70-80 in the left lane when my lights caught 2 red eyeshine reflections on the shoulder of the road. I slowed down immediately to try and get a look, but like you I didn't have a camera at the time. The whole ordeal lasted only about 5 seconds from the first glance and I never came to a full stop, but I KNOW I saw it.. whatever it was. My creature matches the description of yours almost exactly, except from what I could see it was very feline in nature. A black panther is what flashed in my mind at the time, but in south Jerz? The only explanation to that is that I was kind of, sort of within the vicinity of the Cape May zoo, but I never heard anything about a panther escape and I don't think they even have panthers to begin with. The red eyeshine bugs me too, because cats' eyeshine is usually blue, green or silver...

It was weird, no one believes me because my only potential witness was sleeping in the passenger seat, but it definitely happened.

 

yeah, thats what happens, people dont believe you because they cant fathom something like that... ive saw panthers before many times because i used to live about 10 minutes from the detroit zoo, and the size of the thing was way too big, a full grown panther doesnt get the size of a tiger... whatever it was, it was creepy, red eye shine is what set it apart from everything.. i dont understand it..
