yep. I'm thinking about it.. I'm 29 years old and have never had the balls to get one.

I kinda need it. I need tires like yesterday

Does anyone see any problems with this particular credit card? I won't be tempted to go out drinking with it or anything.

Just be careful...I've been in credit card debt before.

But its a good way to build credit. Get your tires then put it away and pay it off ASAP.

Credit cards are good as long as you pay then off ASAP! It can get very ugly, very fast once you start postponing your payments.

yea it's interest free unless i'm late or it's not paid in full by 6 months I'm sure I can handle 600 dollars in 6 months

but, don't they actually DETRACT From your credit score if you pay it off all the way or have a zero balance?

if you have a zero balance on a card like that, it won't affect your credit much if at all.

If you kept a zero balance on a Visa, MC, Discover, AMEX then that's different.

I have store cards in my name from Macy's and places that have had a zero balance for years and my credit has managed to just go up.

i've also never had one. i know they say it's necessary for credit, but i just can't wrap my mind around the concept of proving that you're good with money by making an unnecessary purchase.

It's a good idea to 'use' credit-so you have it.

But be careful-pay it off right away. Don't be stupid.

    1-Read the fine print.
2-It's only good at 20 of their locations and Firestone Tires.
3-It's interest free for 6 months-if you pay if all of in 6 months.
4-It's 22.9% interest if you don't pay it off within 6 months. The interest starts from the day of purchase. This is high-but not as high as I would have expected.
5-They will charge you A LOT for late payments. And that probably voids your 6 month free interest.

Do you have a checking account?

If not open a checking account at a Credit Union. They are local, usually much cheaper, and you may be able to get a credit card there.

And again-if you do get the credit card-don't be stupid. It's real easy to get into a bad and expensive hole.

    This is my suggestion.

Or if you have real mom n' pop type service stations in your area, you might be able to get the hookup on tires with moderate tread.

why not get a real credit card that is accepted at other places?

there's nothing wrong with having a credit card if you have a little self control.

and you can build credit by making everyday purchases on a credit card, not unnecessary ones, underwear
