My First Gow: Would like to share pictures but I don't get how to post them. I tried uploading but the files were too big. Tried looking for info but I can't find it; can someone help me out? Don't laugh!

Do I have to compress the images then upload to member galleries then use the url from that to get them in this box???

    Please help....

These little buggers look way way better (than this photo) after two days under HID. Formerly kept under around 200+ w cfl and tubes. They are still so small after 4 weeks because I kept them in styrofoam cups, then 12 oz beer cups, and now these pots. I did that so they wouldn't get ahead of me, and to stress the hell out of them. If all 8 of these go male...I'll just have to plant more seeds I geuss. Seeds from dirtweed, just terrible terrible brown bricky shite.

I'll get photos of my rig in a day or two--gotta use a friends digi

Whaddya think of my stealthy ballast box!?

[IMG]man, if only someone woulda told me how easy this was when i was
    still in high school...

white paper for reflection so far, drilled holes in the floor with a drip pan slid underneath. socket suspended with hemp[IMG]

killed an old pc tower for the fans which are ducted directly outside,
sucking in fresh air. temps are not a problem, but i'll have to figure
an exhaust sooner or later. the duct was already there, so far dirt and light
are the only expenses (leftover fertilizer)

Gonna keep 2. With any luck i'll get some scratch and buy a ballast kit for a 70 watt bulb i have and set some lucky friend up with a microbox. These are about 33 days old. i think tomorrow i'll do some LST. still have to make it light tight...little foam, some duct tape, then just wait for them to show me sex. is good, no?

Got thermometer yesterday and I woke up at 2 am to check temps--55 degrees F!!!! Detached the duct and left the fan running, and checked again at about 6:30, temps were about 62. After the lights been on an hour its around 75-80. So I put up some aluminum foil. Gonna check and see if I get hotspots in a few hours. 55 degrees! That sucks just one more thing I have to remember to do everyday. And the winter is coming so this could get a little complicated...

Pantyhose over fan to keep out little gnats and fruit flies. Put some sliced potato in each pot so they can lay there eggs there not in my soil.

Hey Con sounds like your grow is coming along!! One thing you can do for your cold temps is look into a cheap portable heater ($10US or so). I live in a cold winter climate also with hot summer climate so it's quite a battle when switching between the two but can be controlled. And i dont know about puttin potatoes in there.......i understand the purpose........but wouldn't it just draw more of them plus other insects in also?? I'd just look into a cheap organic pest spray.....plantitearth.com has many nice products at a cheap price. Anyways thought id put in my 2c. Lookin good, keep the updates comin.

thanks M4...yeah, i shoulda put more slices down, I didn't get that part right away. They can't come in thru the fan but I geuss they must get out the lip of the duct and come in thru the cracks, as I said it's not sealed yet. I'll check out the organic sprays and look around for some DIY recipes, solutions. I set a fan on high and rustled the plants to get up movin then did my best to kill some and get'em outta my cab, but they're still here this morning.
Temps were 95F when I woke up, attached duct, dropped 10 degrees in ten minutes. Yesterday LST'd, topped one indicadom spur-of-the-moment, made a temporary reflector. Don't get those hotspots with the foil, i assume since im only 150 watts.

    *some background*
I'm only trying to get through a whole life cycle. Yield and potency, I don't care about, I just want to keep them alive till ripe. The first time I grew, aside from the bush that grew well in a friends setaside land, I got 4/4 males indoors. Second grow, kept 1 awesome fem that ended up 8 feet tall--flourescents and too much superthrive. Chopped her after a few weeks for security. They're on Rose freaking food now, I think 16-24-16, it's worked before and I use the smallest amount with a drop of superthrive. Hyponex soil/perlite. MG 10-50-10 for bloom. Yep. Just keeping them alive and %75 healthy is the only goal. After THAT i'll look in to all the great products I see everyone use. I swore I'd never buy again...but yesterday I was frazzled and my elfbabe gave me twunny bucks for some green brick "mids". Actually it's just shwag with a few tigerstripe seeds, but around here...does the job i geuss.

We're gonna legalize this stuff someday soon-ConRev

Hey Con.....sounds like things are coming along. As long as you can get the bugs taken care of before flowering you should be in the clear. Sounds like you got the nutes figured out.......i know you know but be very careful with that rose food, looks pretty potent. Anyways i wish ya luck for a female ;) Great to see the enthusiasm......just wait till you get som HID lights like 400W or more with good soil and nutes........wow the difference it makes is amazing. Keep us posted with the updates.

    Hey Conrev!

M4N is right! It may be possible (if you are really good!) but it's not a good idea. Putting out fully developed seeds is just about the last thing the plant does before it dies - it is already in the process of dying!!! If you are able to rescue it from the clutches of "the Grim Reaper" you have to nurse it back to health; but it wont be the same again because it is all "burned out".
Some people reveg after harvesting sinsemilla to get a (much smaller) second harvest; but in that case the plant isn't nearly as burned out. It is much more efficient to grow a whole new crop.
I'm not sure I understand what you're asking about cloning! Cuttings, for clones, should be taken from a plant before it goes into flowering stage.

im thinking he meant grow out the plant till flowering, take clones, pollinate and make seeds, then try to save the plant and do it all over again......but why would you need clones and seeds???? Id just take clones.....then ya always got a female and a much quicker harvest ;)

    Hey Conrev!
Okay! I'm a little confused! What did you mean?

"is it possible to clone, seed, and reveg a mother? do people do that?"

I think he means can you re-veg a seeded plant. After it has had cuttings removed from it. Not that removing cuttings would make any diference. I would say you can re-veg a seeded plant.
