I hestitated a bit today after work in the parking lot whether to go barefoot or not. I headed inside, got a few things I needed, checked out and left. No questions asked. A HUGE step (bad pun) for me My, the floors aren't clean, but it was good!
Its fun going into a store filled with apprehension. Its even better when you leave and see the evidence in the form of dirty soles.
Congratulations! I understand your apprehension in the parking lot. I don't like walking on the local lot WITH shoes! It is a sea of gum and whatever else they cast off on the way in.
I waited in the parking lot to see if I had the guts.. Reading this forum and all you posters made me do it. Glad I did!
In spite of the anxiety, guilt, societal barbs, initial blisters, and sweat-drenched terror, going barefoot is really a lot of FUN!
It's really not that fraught. The more you do it the more natural it will seem. You're just trying to enjoy yourself.
I did it at my walmart and the manager told me to get some shoes or leave X( So I put back the stuff I was gonna by and left, lol. Stupid store
Funny thing was... I went down some aisles and noticed the odd CSR. I would deke out of the way to avoid a confrontation. But I had to go down this one aisle...where there was four CSRs stocking shelves. Then two more people came down the small aisle as well. I stayed put! Tomorrow, I have to do some groceries, so I'll try that out too.
The grocery store is nice. The cold by the freezers and the sticky floors in the fruit veg area. Hit that area first and black feet are very likely to happen.
