Cool for you. I don't like metal a whole lot. My fave genre would be jam or emo. I like HardCore, but metal isn't my cup of tea... Well, I like Sabbath sometimes, but other than that, not a metal fan.

I listen to... pretty much country/folk/bluegrass, blues... lotsa rootsy americana stuff and scottish highland/celtic music, gospel, jazz, funk/soul.. Just about anything you hear on NPR.

Aside from that, Southern Rock, Classic Rock, and Jam Bands... :D I just home from seeing Dickey Betts and Great Southern in a venue with about 300 people in it.

To be honest, it was unimaginably better than seeing the Allman Brothers in a 25,000 person amphitheatre.

i cant stand metal really. when people play without feeling their music and playing as fast as they can, it takes off the sensation of music...

Well... I really don't get the point because of that. You can't groove to metal or really feel it once you get to a point. I like listening to someone who can hit the spot... and I'd rather listen to BB King play slow than Yngwie Malmsteen playing at a billion bpm.

The only kind of metal I really care for is stuff like Steve Vai, but there's more to his music and some of the stuff he does really makes you wonder because he'll try to do stuff like incorporate eastern indian music into it...

Eric Johnson, but I don't really consider his stuff...

I love metal, I think people who bang on about the "lack of feeling " or what have you have entirely missed the point

What grinds my gears the most though is "yeah but its all like death and shit"

Ag...its not....its just another way of "expressing oneself"

    You ignorant morons :D

Power metal is a lot like that lyrical wise, but the musicans are much more talented as far as metal terms go.

Hmmmm, I listen to lots of different genres of music, but my favorite is probably dub reggae. Especially the mid-to-late 70's stuff. It's like some kind of zombie music or something, lol. Man, those jamaicans were really going crazy in the studio...
