awww, I'm blushing! Thank you guys so much...the subject is really dear to me. As for how I made it: I drew the portrait in India Ink (green, black, red, gold.) with a quill, and then cut it out in the shape of my choosing. This let me cut out any mistakes or notsogood looking parts. Then I glued it to orange construction paper and extended the drawing. ooohhh, I'm the only artist I know who's never ever done a self portrait. and that's kind of an artist-y thing to do, so...I don't know where I am on that one. Not happening any time soon though. I'd rather create other people's likenesses. Haha, that's one thing that separates me from the rest of them. No self portraits! I know it's an important step, but...don't wanna!
I like doing self portraits only because if I fuck it up I don't have to worry about hurting the model's feelings.
But see we paint how we see...so I'm okay at capturing peoples' basic looks (If I doooo say so myself!) But I bet if I did a self portrait people would be all "That doesn't look like you at all..." and I'd be all "Bitch, hush!" But in a way everything's a self portrait, right? HA! There's an out! I do "self portraits" all the time!
