I was in your same situation not too long ago. I've been on this spiritual journey for many years now and more and more I find my friends are... lacking substance? They're fake, phony, and too involved with unimportant things. I used to be the same way though. I thought I needed the fastest car, the sharpest clothes, the MOST money. But through reading, studying, and meditating I've found my true self. I finally started doing things that I WANTED TO. I started studying botany (which I LOVE) and I've discovered people in that sect with the same interests as I. You've got to shed these fake friends. You're becoming a butterfly, but you won't get rid of your cocoon. Get out there, meet some people (preferably at activities you enjoy) and try to make that effort to meet some decent people. They exist, and they're all around you. You just gotta know where to look. You're in a rough spot, but it gets better. I've seen where you're going, and it's wonderful!
